Hi,
This is my first post. I did Browse around, and did a search, but can't seem to locate this.
I have uninstalled Teamspeak, but it seems that the codecs that it has installed were not uninstalled with it.
The codecs appear to be creating static on my mic, and also cause a wierd static when I move my mouse with the Mic on.
Background:
Got a new mother board (Asus a7n8x deluxe) about 3 weeks ago.
Tried Teamspeak and get lots of static on my Mic (wether TS is running or not).
I assumed it was a problem with the Mobos on onboard sound, and wrote it off as a loss (no TS).
Have since done a clean reinstall of win2k.
Got a ring from a buddy this morning who want to play some games using TS.
We had discussed the problems I had had earlier, but I decided to give it a go again.
Step 1) went into my nforce tray and enabled my Mic. NO STATIC!!!! :D
Step 2)
Tweaked my volume settings and the mic worked great.
No static while talking, in the background, or when moving the mouse.
I thought, "GREAT! It's gonna work this time."
Maybe a bad driver install last time?
Step 3) Installed TS (ts2_client_rc2_2028.exe)
Step 4) test out TS with the loopback option:
Horrible sound on all Codecs
Step 5) Shut down teamspeak - open sound properties and enable Mic.
Static constantly - anoying static when I move the mouse ????????
I believe this is very obviously something caused *by* the install.
Step 6) Uninstall TS and check mic again - same problems.
So, how do I remove everything that TS has installed short of formatting and reinstalling 2k agian?
Or, has anyone had these same issues that may offer suggestions on how to fix the problem?
Edit - System Specs:
A7n8x deluxe (SoundStorm onboard sound) - newest drivers
Ati 9700 Pro - newest drivers
AMD XP 1800+
1 gig PC2700 DDR
430 watt Antec true power PSU
Win2k pro - 2 day old clean install
- SP2 with all other updates (security etc) from MS
- DX 9
(no sp3 - win media player still at 6.4)
Just realized I didn't dothe DX9a update. I'll try that.
Thanks!
Mark
