View Full Version : (unsolvable?) rights-problem

Hi,

I have got a problem with Teamspeak and rights.

I want to have the following setting:

- 1 SUPERUSER who is allowed to do everything.

- a few special guys who can kick, ban, move players (but nothing else, no webinterface, no tcp-query, no registering, unregistering, etc,)

- rest of normal (registered) users.

this seems to be impossible to accomplish with the actual ts-rights-model.

There seems to be no way to add permanent people who can ban, kick, move without making them SA's.
WHEN making them SA's they must get the rights for everything my "SUPERUSERS" is allowed to do. otherwise there would be no way to have a SUPERUSER who can do everything.

The rights of the "special guys" should work in every channel and they should stay. Like in a normal Chat-Setup.

I tried to make the "special guys" Operators but Operators get their operator status just for a single channel and i think it doesn't stay over sessions. Not all rights can be assigned to perators too.

Is there a solution or am i just dumb and got something wrong?

thanks

hey!

I think that there's a way to get this running...

you can take the following rights from SAs via the Web-Interface... AccessWebAdminServer and AccessTcpServer. So a normal ServerAdmin can't access the web-interface any longer and he also can't use the query function...

The only problem is that you don't have a SuperUser in that sense, because you can't login with your SuperAdmin when using your TS-Client. But the superadmin still has most of the power, because he can do all the user-management stuff by using the web-interface... so I'd suggest, that you take those two access rights from your SAs, and create a SA for yourself, because you might want to login to the server by using the client with the most powerful flag...

You should also remove SA's PrivilegeGrantAllowRegistration and AdminRegisterPlayer, so you have to create all users by using the user-manager in your web-interface...

Referring to mantis, this problem still exists... thus further testing will be made when ralf releases a new server...
