This may have already been posted..if so I owe a lot of ppl here an apology :D since I haven't used the search function this time

Currently we have about 300 Users on our TS2 RC2 Server which are managed by a couple of SA's.

However the SA's have too many Rights BUT I have to give them to SA since I need them myself.
Now if I give them CA that means they can only admin in their designated Channel unless I chase them trough all 40 or so of them and give them appropriate Rights there.

- It would be nice if the SSA could have a seperate login and have some more rights in the Client GUI so he could overrule all the other Stuff. Also that a SA should not be able to revoke any rights of the SSA.

- Could the CA be a CA Systemwide ? So he has not the full rights a SA has but the ones CA currently does but on the whole Server ?

- Why can a Registered User have more Rights than a CA for example ? At least there are more possibilities in the Webinterface to tick.

Other than that cudos to the Devteam. It is running absolutely smooth on a Linux box with 114 concurrent Users last week. Congrats lads !

I think that the solution to your problem, or at least a partial solution, would be the possibility to create your own groups and asign rights to them.

I think what we currently have is just the first version of the Rights management system and if I am not completely mistaken, the next version will have more options and the possibility to create your own groups. I am not 100% sure though, but i think that I tumbled over a post indicating something like that.

a channeladmin just has rights in one channel... that's why he's called channel admin :)

RegisteredUser, UnregisteredUser and ServerAdmin are server-wide flags, that's why they support server-wide permissions...

e. g. it would cause problems in the permission-system if a CA was allowed to register with server but a registered / unregistered user isn't, because if a unregistered user can create a channel he'll be CA in there and thus can register after he created a channel... (the same with O and V, he just has to moderate a channel and use CA to give O / V to himself and thus he can reach other levels with some tricks)

but as Judas already said... I also think that the permissions system will be improved in coming releases...

thx vor the replies

At the moment Registered Users cannot create any Channel so we are around that problem.

So I guess we just wait and see what RC3 brings then ;)
