Hello,

I am really looking forward to a finished product, and I cannot say enough good things about your work and program. It blows RogerWilco out of the water entirely. When you do go to charge people for the program, I'll definitely be a paying customer.

You've done an outstanding job so far, and I hope you and your business continue to do well!

I've been using the server and client for many months now, and there are a few things I'd love to see changed:

First would be having the connect function attempt the connection more than once before it gives you a failed notice. I use no-IP along with your program, and connecting to my server always takes at least one failure. Would it be possible for the connection to poll at least three attempts automatically in future releases?

Another issue is that admins cannot remove or rename the default channel. Would there be a way in a final product for us to either rename or delete it entirely? It would be nice to assign a default channel name of our chosing at the least.

Another nice perk would be to add a "back" option under "Self" on the title bar. I know programmers don't think of it the same way, but having to hit "away" again is not intuitive for normal users or those whor are used to Instant Messaging programs that have similar "away" and "back" options.

The final thing I can think of now is that having the voice of "Switched Channel" when you switch channels within a game actually say the channel name. When you have multiple channels open, it is hard to tell once in the game which channel you are joining. This might be a difficult thing to add, but having it would be very very very helpful. I only run a very basic server for our gaming clan, but we have at least three channels running at once. If I were able to hear, "Switched channel to X" instead would be great. Even if it was "Switched to channel A" or something similar. Users would have to memorize that "A" would equal the channel for Battlefield: 1942 channel X, but at least you would know where you are going and who to expect on that channel.

Again, as I said above, your program rocks overall. I could list countless things I love about it, so don't think I'm just a whiner! Thanks for your work, and I look forward to you future releases.

Many thanks,

Agathon

I can't answer all of your questions but some I think I can.
The no-ip thing: dunno.
Default channel: can be done already. If you can't already directly change the name then make another channel the default channel and delete the first one. (RC1 experience).

The away button is actually dented when you press it. So those buttons in the menu are like switching on the things they say next to it. Maybe we should make the effect more drastic... or you should buy a monitor :)

Text to speech is still far away for us. That's stuff we won't be thinking off in the near future or development of TS2. Firstly we have other things on our minds :)

Hello,

Yep, sure enough I tried to remove the default channel, and it works. I apologize for not testing it since the latest release. It was something I had had problems with before.

Yeah, the "Away" indention is impossible for me to see on any computer I look at it on unfortunately. Maybe my high resolution settings make it hard to distinguish. It really is a minor thing, but I figured I would mention it as a user. Having the system match instant messengers with a "back" button would be preferrable.

Adding more than "Switched Channels" was going to be a tough one I suspected. Maybe it will happen in the future though...

Thanks for your extremely fast reply!

8-)
