Ive recently added Team Speak on my server so my Battlefield 1942 clanmembers are able to join my server to talk to eachother during a war.

But, by playing a war some of the members complain about their FPS (Framerate per second) others do not.

I think they are just lazy and do not want to join Team Speak. But maybe I am wrong.

Is there something like a default server setting so most people do not have a high FPS with Battlefield and Team Speak?

the codec I am running in the channel is:

Codec:
CELP 5.1 Kbit

maybe that is wrong?

another question: how much bandwith is TS using if you have it on "unlimited"?

so you can see, I am new on team speak. hope you help me, even with unasked questions :)

thx.

First of all.. The bandwidth used by teamspeak can be calculated quite easily. (the following FAQ link has some answers for you)

http://www.teamspeak.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=708

Using the CELP 5.1 is a good idea, you might want to give CELP 6.3 a try as it has slightly better quality and less latency but if everything is just fine you can as well stick to 5.1.

Eventhough CELP doest use much bandwidth you have to keep in mind that bandwidth gets multiplied when several people are talking. (ie 3 people talking = 3 times as much bandwidth usage as with 1 person talking. And thats on clientside aswell)

Teamspeak shouldnt actually affect your fps but maybe on slow system it can have a slight impact on performance (never encountered anything like that myself).

If some of your clanmembers are on ISDN or even dialup though they might experience a slightly higher ping and it can actually cause resonable ammount of lag when more than 2 people talk at the same time.
