Problems with Terratec Aureon 5.1 Sky

I have problems using TeamSpeak and playing BF1942. The sound gets deep and slow, and my buddies sound like junkies and I too in their headphones.

I have the same problem... Reinstalled WinXp (no use), tried on another motherboard, proc,graf card... (no use)

Does this happen also if you start a song in WinAMP, and start Aureon Control Panel? It happens to me but only for the first time..

Solution? Any one? pls....

I have problems during startup as well, in which windows soundtheme changes speed and freqency. And Sensuara for improved 3D-realism results in all sounds happen as talking with ppl on the other side of the world on the phone - NOT very realistic. Have you meet this problem? aswell?

No I don’t have this problem, but...
Today tested the sound card on 2 systems - same problems. Didn’t test TS2 because I think if the card pass "WinAMP - Control Panel" :) test, then it will probably be OK... It seems some driver incompatibility but there are some serious questions..

My testing configs...
1. MSI KT133 MB,AMD800, GF MX2, WinXP + SP1 (+Dx9, +WMP9)
2. Chaintech BX MB, Celeron 333, GF MX2, Win98SE (no DX)

Also tried changing BIOS setup, but nothing...
Do this test pls.. Start Windows Sound Recorder unplug your microphone and start recording.. When I do that I don’t get flat line (like with Creative PCI128, I think I should get that - nothing), but I get some buzzing..(?) Do you get this also? This could imply some hardware problems (this happens on all testing configurations)..

I could make a test on another system (Win2000 or WinMe) but maybe for the weekend.. :)

I dont now what the windows sound recorder is :/
But I tried configuring my sound through the contol panel - sound and audio devices-voice tab - "test hardware" button and almost blew my ears out due to extremely loud white noice. What an unpleasant experience, since I´ve had no problems with sound recording so far.

About the sensaura-thing I have a theory that enabling this makes no sence using headphones. After all the sound in games is good, as long as U dont use teamspeak :D

Have you had any issues lately?

Ok, the thing is that since I was unable to play sound from two sources (WinAMP + Windows Media Player) at the same time on all of the configurations I concluded that my card is defective.
Took the card to a dealer, and they called me today saying that I was right and going to get a new card...

You could try doing the same thing, maybe you have similar problem...

I tried using winamp and Windows media player simutainously. No problem with that...

Then you will have to try this card on another computer (use a friend ) :rolleyes: or you could load a bios fail-safe defaults and try with that....

I have tried it on my friends NForce2-based pc, and the our commom problem from the start, playing BF1942 and using teamspeak doesn´t work. Thats my only problem left actually :)

Ive got the same Problem with my Aureon Space 7.1

After ive contacted Terratec support i might have found out the main Problem : Its all about the sample rate!

The Aureon Control Panel automaticly sets Speeds on Application preference, for TS its 41 to 44000Hz. Inputs sound quite well but from Input seems to lag. The sample rate drops down. Its an TS issue, coze same Prob comes with C-Media/AC97 Cards/onboard Sound as well! Terratec will release a new driver next week, maybe they ll fit the prob, even if its a ts (codec) prob!

p.s.: Youll have to enable Sensaura in the Aureon CP to enable HW EAX1/2 Sensaura3d, A3d and HW direct Sound buffer!!!

I had the same impression...that it's about the sample rate. I'm very happy to hear that Terratec will release a new driver soon. Where did you here that theyll do that within a weeks time?

About Sensaura...I understand that the buffer is not used if Sensaura is not enabled, but possibly it makes no sense to enable it, when you're not using a speakersystem, but only headphones. Am I right?

Not quite right, it improves Sound Quality and relieves your CPU . if yer listend to EAX Sound , you wont play without it!

I ve directly contacted Terratecs PR and technical Support. Ive even been able to test a beta driver, but this one was to buggy to release it :(

I gave m reply and told em about the probs with some games and ts as well, we ll have to wait now ;)

I understut that we in this thread shared the TS/Terattec-problem. The third guy here never had troubles with Sensaura. You have?
Cause I´d love to experience EAX or whatever my card is capable of, and I cant wait for that driver.
Last - from where do you know that a driver-release is coming up soon?

To enable EAX / Sensaura and so on, Simply install the Terratec Control Panel for your Card. Then you ll have to chose the Speaker option in the CP. Klick on Sensaura, afterwards you ll have to restart.

Enable EAX/A3d (whatever) in a Game of your choice, and listen...

p.s.: Your allready capable of sensaura, you ll just have to install the Aureon Control Panel from yours driver CD!

Enabling Sensaura, and play quake3, BF1942 and Colin McRae demo, with the betadriver. Only Colin gave actual possibility to enable eax ingame, but it didnt work though. In Q3 and BF1942 I only had soundlag, but no actual soundquality improvements.

On the other hand after installing the betadriver, I can use teamspeak while playing BF1942, and thats a hit :)

Thanks for the beta drivers, going to try them, hopefully they are going to work with IL2 Forgotten Battles..

Beta drivers unfortunately didn't work for me, when I start TS the computer resets...
I don't think I will try to solve this problem because I don't have the time or will to do it.

Well after many days trying to solve sound problem, I found out that the sensura wont work well with Teamspeak. I noticed that when the sensura is enabled and I launch teamspeak, the frequency drops to 48000 Hz, this when the sound gets very deep and slow. If I disable the sensura and launch teamspeak, then the frequency drops to 22050 Hz. If I then enable IP voice, teamspeak works great for me.

Each time I have to use teamspeak I need to disable the sensura and restart the comupter, to make it work. The only problem is that if should play a game using teamspeak to talk, the sound in the game will only be 22050 Hz, and I won't get eax and other improved sound qulity.

This is very bothersome to keep restarting the computer, if I should use the teamspeak or not. If anyone has some clue about this i really like to hear it..

Hi there,

I have a different problem.
Cant recording anything intenally. Like, playing something in winamp, and want to recird that with some audio editor (cool edit etc). All I get is flat line.
Any sugestions?
