cmi8738 sfx problems!!!

i have a cmi8738 when i start ts i cant hear sfx in game or vice verse how do i hear both like other players.do i need to buy a sound card?

you can test this in windows... if you're playing some wav-file, can you hear another at the same time?
if not you have to use direct sound in TS... if that doesn't help too, you need another soundcard, because your soundcard can't playback multiple soundstreams :(
