Forgive me if this is a feature I have yet to learn about. But at any rate I will make this sugestion. Currently myself and about 10 - 20 others have been using TS as a place to talk to one another while we all play the same game. ( DAOC )
The only problem we have some times is that we are not sure who is joining or leaving the channels. As some of the people who jump into TS do not have a mic, it makes it a bit hard to identify the individual.
To solve this problem I am making the following sugestions.
When a user joins the channel, rather then saying Member, or some of the sort. have the client actualy send the server the persons name. Keep this stored as a profile.
First, Apon first running of client without a default profile. Have a small wizard start asking for the person if they have a mic installed. If so, have them record there name. Then when they join a channel have the client send it to the server just as if the person said something. For us with a mic, it would tell those who we are before we join. And those without one a chance to find a small wave that they can use to "brand" themselves.
