Im runnin a Gigabyte GA-8IHXP Motherboard with the Creative CT5880 Chipset a 5.1 4 channel codec
This chip is basically a SB PCI128.
I'm runnin Win98SE. yeah I know but it works so why change it?

My problem is this:
When I start TS it kills my rear channels.
Now the chip uses its line input as an output when set to 4 channel mode thru the configuration software. the 3d test works fine WITHOUT TS running. As soon as I run TS I lose my rear channels and when attempting to run the 3D test it gives me a error about the rear channels being disabled. While this is not a show stopper it certainly is less than desirable to have a 4 speaker system turned into a 2 speaker stereo.
I believe that TS is resetting my rear speakers to use as a input ie Line in. I would greatly appreciate a fix patch or workaround as I do enjoy using TS but am really saddened by this glitch.

There is only one set of drivers available for this chip from Gigabyte and I have tried some Creative pci128 drivers without success.

I do have a SB Xgamer live 5.1 but it seems to have a poorly laid out PCB. If I set TS to Voice Activation as soon as another person speaks my mic trips to transmit. This causes the other person to get a echo and makes understanding almost impossible. This happens with my speakers turned off ( no power ) or even without any speakers attached. (note that with speaker off or disconnected there is no echo but the xmit voice activation green light does light. ) Thus I believe its a layout problem with the creative card. ie a ground loop.
I could be wrong. But If you are aware of this issue and have a fix
I eagerly await a answer to either issue.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. I am using the Maxi Sound Muse sound card and have updated to the latest driver. the four channel sound works fine in games and in other windows applications.

When I start up Teamspeak, it appears that the client disables my rear channel (the ones I have my head phones plugged into) and the only output i get is through the front (speakers.) The microphone connection appears to be unaffected.

If I open the sound properties box thorugh the windows control panel, I have found a work around. I have to change the speaker settings from 4 to 2, click apply, then change them back from 2 to 4, and click apply. Then TS is running in 4 channel sound. I can then turn the speaker volume down and use my headphone/mic headset.

Although I have found this workaround, It is a pain to have to do this process every time I start TS. Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.
