View Full Version : Good Question Needs Answering
I have broadband service through AT&T and they give each person 10 MB to use for a web page. I can upload my files for the web page via FTP. I was wondering if there was a way to use that 10 MB to run a TeamSpeak server? My problem is figuring out how to install the server software into my space on their servers. After that I would have to figure out myself how to get on to remotey administer it, but first things' first. Does anyone know how I could use FTP to load the TS server into the 10 MB given to me by AT&T? I know that's enough space.
Of course this is enough space, but can you tell me how you planned to start a executable file, such as the TS server, through a FTP access ????
=>you need a shell access
Webspaces are in general for HTML files. This means you can upload this files and they are reachable through port 80, the html port => your own webpages (but TS server is a application)
I'm fairly sure you can not convice your ISP to open the TS port to your TS server.
Yeah I did some further messing around with it after I posted, and as I was transfering the files I realized that I would have no way to launch the executable file. Also the port situation had come across my mind. Oh well, it was worth a try.
