What's the error message?
Maybe first try to log in as anonymous, just to make sure there's no problem with your user name / password combination.
And maybe use the server IP address, not its host name.

"Connection reset by peer. Maybe there is no server running"

The default port is 8767.

Have you tried to forward the ports from the netgear to the server? If you have tried this and it is not working remember that you need to use the ip and not the hostname.

Are you trying to connect to your external ip or your internal ip?

Are you trying to add the port to the end of the ip? You should not need to do that unless you have changed the default port.
