Good afternoon all.
I am running Red Hat 9 on a Pentium 200 with 128MB RAM (it is really stripped down - a minimal amount of daemons run on startup, and only 23MB of memory is used after boot). I start the server, but I see when I watch the data in 'top' that the CPU usage sometimes goes up... all the way to 99.9%. Right now it is only using 0.1%, but then again it has been running for about 10 minutes.
I believe "webadministering" is the culprit here. Testing the server with my friends has a minimal amount of CPU usage change. I just let this post sit here and stayed logged into my Red Hat box via ssh for about 5 minutes, but as soon as I came back and logged in via IE, the CPU usage shot up from 0.1% to 99%. Any way to fix this?
Thanks.
