I have just set up a clan server on my network and I am unable to get to it from the outside. I have port forwarding set to forward port 8767 to it's internal IP address. I am able to get to it by it's internal IP of 192.168.0.3 , but not by my external IP. Any ideas?

I forgot to add that both my server and internal client are running on Win 2K SP3:rolleyes:

YOU will not be able to use your WAN IP. Only few router can handel such requests =>

inside the LAN: use ONLY LAN IP
from the WAN: use WAN IP

(this has been posted a many times, do a search next time)

I have tried this from other locations and no one can get to it. Sorry I did do a search and nothing seemed to help so I thought I would post. Do you have any other ideas?

Maybe you can test it from your location. The address is x.x.x.x(edited out)

I'll give it a try, but this will take another 2.5 h. I'm currently at work.

Thanks Guldi! If this works, I know that my firewall at home is working and my firewall here is not allowing me to get through. I know that I can FTP to my box so the port forwarding should be working.

please give a new IP. The one you provided is not reachable (ping, port scann, TS client...).

That is my IP. I have a FTP server that I am also running from that address which I am able to reach. I don't know what else to do. I have not changed any of the default server settings on the TS server, so the port should still be 8767 which is what I have set on my firewall. Are there any other settings that I need to look at. Please forgive me, but our clan use to use Roger Wilco and I had heard great things about TS so I wanted to make the switch.

Any thoughts?

hmmm... still can not ping you, not scann you, nor connect to this IP with TS client :-(
you or your hoster seems to block some ports.

I changed the port scann to not use ping => no open port in range 8700 - 8900

But your FTP server works ? Can your router forward UDP connections ?
My portscanners now detects your FTP port which is open. Something with the portforwarding of 8767 must be wrong !

Could you connect to the FTP address? I don't know what else to do. I did forward that 8767 port on the firewall. I do have don't respond to pings on the wan port enabled. Does this need to be turned off?

Yep checking if you actually forwarded UDP traffic aswell sounds like a good one..

Also check server.ini and see if it says ServerUDPPort=8767 maybe your servers runs on a different port which you need to open?

You can try the Wan ping thinggie just to make sure it works..

ftp adres works here yes..

hmmm... I got this message too
BUT: I can find his open FTP port but NOT the TS UDP 8767 port ?

@MajorPayne1:
please enable anonymous login on your server or give us a dummy user / pw

Thanks for all the help. I will let my clan know that it is up and running! It's nice to have a forum that actually takes care of the community the way this one does.

:D ;)

I will set up a dummy account at lunch, which is a hour from now. So I will let you know in about 2 as to what the dummy account is.

Thanks,

MP

Thanks for the test. I didn't have to do really anything to make it work. I believe the problem came from trying to connect to it behind to strict of a firewall. I will try it out tonight with my clan.
