I just downloaded TS2 under the recommendation of a squad member saying TS2 > RW. Well, I downloaded it, followed the instructions on how to set it up. When I clicked on connect, I got nothing. So I go to web servers. I click on update list. Then I get the message "Error Getting List". Does anyone know the fix to this problem?

Whenever you click on Connection / Connect / Web Server List, you get this errormessage.

This is not a problem which is caused by you. The Web Server List was shut down because it caused to high traffic and cpu-usage on the hosting server. There'll be a new server list in future versions of TS, but until a new version is out, you have to connect to your servers manually by typing in their ip or dns.
So this doesn't mean that ts doesn't work anymore, just that server list is offline.

more simple:
it's not your fault, the server-list isn't working at the moment, so the only thing you can do is waiting for a new TS-Client-Version.
Until the new version is out connect to one of the publics or to any other server by filling out the connection dialogue manually.

Call me an A—hole if you want I don’t care. This is the kind of thing that gets my goat. Seekers of help need HELP. I understand that it gets monotonous and down right exasperating at times, but if this kid was not 11 YOA I suspect he would get an answer like go to the FAQ. OK LETS DO EXACTLY THAT. Looking through the FAQ is too time consuming and exasperating. Oh you say that is why there is a search engine. OK LETS SEARCH. You select forum jump to FAQ and enter some key word. Lets see now, well, the most logical entry should be Server List. Now select go and what do you get? Opps Sorry Nothing was found. On many occasions I have found that you can’t make two word entries it will only search the first word or both but will not put them together. With this scenario you’ve got to READ ALL the posts with the word server and list in them. How informative can this be? I don’t mind working to learn but the fact is that I have yet to find a self help entity, from anywhere or site, to give answers that can be used in a timely fashion. It is only by chance and or assistance from the know-it-alls you can expect results. There I have said my peace I am sorry if I offend.

what's wrong with you???

didn't you realize that the "Error Getting List"-error is fixed with the current client release?

That's why the Thread has been removed from the faq...

It has not been so long ago that I was not accustomed to the ins and outs of computers in general, and believe me I am no computer whiz now. To answer your question, Yes. I had some kind of inkling this was the problem but I did have the most current version of the Teamspeak Client and I had already been at the "Web Server List" which operated fine. The next day nothing, I got the error message. I was confused and needed an explanation, or guidance to assure me that I didn't loose a hard fought for gain. Believe me to get the server list was no easy task at this point. Which brings me to Forums, FAQ, and self help sites. As I said I have not found any FAQ, self-help site that answers questions to the satisfaction of all situations. General help is fine but a lot of times it is the stupid mundane situation that receives answers like “How2ReadFAQB4Lookinglikeanidiot?” with no further help or assistance. SatanClaus I apologize if the previous note rankles you. I have read enough of these posts to know you help and care, but I wonder still if this youth was say 56, like myself, and had the same problem, which I did, if the answer would have been go to the FAQ base. I think in my example I showed that that pat answer would have produced zero. I beg your pardon, no, it would have produced further frustration and no one would have been helped. Try it. Search for server list in the FAQ base. I will be surprised if you get any referrals to assist you.

ok... the thread was deleted from the faq, because this bug seems / seemed to be fixed... so that's the reason why you won't find it in the faq...
just click on "search" in the upper-right corner of this board and enter "error getting list".

you'll find enough threads and I replied to like 10 of them before I went from answering every single one to "read the faq"...
