I have a (U) next to my name. What do i do when the "Register with server" button is grayed out and i cant click it?

then it's probably not possible to register with that server

which means that you don't have permissions to register with that server... so ask a SA to grant you permissions to do so... (on our publics you can't register, because no SA will allow you to do so)
