I'm not affiliated w/ TS or anything, just relaying what I've found out. I've gotta SB Audigy which recently fried (don't ask), & was forced 2 activate/enable (in bios)/use my onboard sound.
I came 2 the forums trying 2 figure the prob out as my prob C'ms 2 B similar 2 yours & left 2 figure it out on my own. My prob was that I COULD hear what all was going through the mic & all, but TS was NOT transmitting or recording it 4 some reason. Tried several things... codecs/quality/force 8-bit/etc.
Here's what my prob actually was, do this:
Go2 CONTROL PANEL
> Go 2 SOUNDS & AUDIO DEVICES
> Click AUDIO Tab
> Verify that the correct Default Devices R chosen (they should B already)
> Click VOLUME under SOUND RECORDING
> Verify that the SELECT checkbox directly under MICROPHONE is checked.
My prob was that WAVE was selected & NOT Microphone. I'm not sure if this is VIA's prob or what. I uninstalled my SB Audigy, then enabled the onboard sound, then installed newest drivers in Win.
P.S.
Here's my PC Specs
AMD Athlon XP 2600+/2.13Ghz 333Mhz FSB (.13)
Asus A7V333-Raid (Rev 1.02 Bios 1018.001)
2x 512MB OCZ REV3.2 CAS2 PC2700 (333Mhz) DDR
ATI Radeon 8500 (Modded) w/ Remote Wonder (6.14.10.6343)

16x Pioneer Slot-Load DVD
250MB Iomega Zip Drive
Ahanix Blue Mirror Noblesse (Modded)
550 Watt Enermax Power Supply
P.P.S.
Running WinXP Pro SP1 on DirectX 9
Note: I'm waiting 4 the RMA Replacement Audigy & am using the motherboards onboard C-Media (I Blieve AC'97).
Hope this helps U guys out ,
