Just wondering from those who use TS on a regular basis and have a successful server/client connection:

What kind of rules and policies do you have in your chats to insure better quality for all users? How do you maintain a fair environment that is not overly offensive or damaging to your community?

I am trying to set up some written guidelines for my clients. And I would like to know what has worked with you guys/gals and what hasn't worked. But I am not going to be a harda$$ on each of the clients just because they talk alot or i dont like them. I usually ban them from the server if they use racist remarks or are cussing entirely way too much.

Just want your opinion on this. Also, does the TS pub servers have any such guidelines? If so where are these rules posted?

Thank You

the basic rules are in the description of our default channel:

Hi,

have fun on our server, but please dont spamm in the Default channels (or in any other public channels).

Do *NOT* play music!
Thanks.

Please join our IRC channel at quakenet:
#teamspeak

and there's a moderated Echo / Spam-Channel where users get moved for annoying admins:

You were moved here because:
1) You were playing music
2) You were continously transmitting/echoing
3) You were not behaving
4) A Server Admin thought you belong here.

Please sort this out or be banned

"The TeamSpeak team"

so basically all SAs try to moderate people in the way they think is best... but no one gets punished without reason...

hi :)

imho it allso depends on what kind of server u wanna run (private or public) but i agree with santa :)

i run a semi private ts on a static ip so i have told people to keep the ip private :) and not jumping channels as people might be very busy and dont have time to respond to normal chatter :)
and of course be civil, have fun. if people wanna complain hehehe they can set thier own server up noooo biggy i'll live ;)

another thing u might wanna try enforcing is a way to talk on cooms otherwise u will have people stepping and broadcasting etc.
