Hello, I have this problem. Since I have my router, a D-link DI-604, I can't talk anymore trhough my PC. Not in MSN and not with teamspeak. How can I solve this problem. I have the newest firmwire installed for the router.
Greeettzzz, I hope I get some answer soon.
Oh yeah, I totally can't work with a pc, so when you know how to solve it, will you please tell me in an easy language. Thx
Koen
If you went from being directly connected to the internet to behind a router, you won't be able to do anything that requires a direct connection back to your machine (e.g. TeamSpeak) without modifications.
The "fix" is what is usually called port forwarding. All applications that speak using TCP or UDP talk on specific ports. Web servers talk on port 80, telnet on port 21, etc. TeamSpeak talks on port 8767 by default.
In a client/server configuration, no port forwarding is necessary for the client, only the server. If you're trying to host a teamspeak server, you must forward port 8767 to your local machine.
Simply put, find your router's configuration page that does port forwarding and forward port 8767 for udp to your local machines ip (e.g. 192.168.0.101). Feel free to message me if you have more questions.
If your using only the TS client, then you do not need any port forwarding (the client uses one port from the whole range 1024-65535 udp).
Your router does probably a packet filtering or has some kind of a firewall installed.
But we can't give you the "easy step by step solution" cause every router has a different configuration. You will need some basic knowledge of networking, otherwise it will be difficult.
