This is all tested under XP PRO (installed 4 hours before this
post was made)

XP 2400 cpu at 11.5x185 mhz , 1gig of Twinmos PC3200 DDRAM
2x ibm 40 gig 7200 rpms , 1 liteon cdwriter, 1 liteon DVD rom.
sapphire Radeon 9700
NO PCI CARDS at all.

Freshly Installed , Nforce 2.03 driver , Radeon catalyst 3.4 drivers.
Nothing else ...not that it matters..it happens under Directx 9.0
as well.

Other recording applications do not display the problem
and the mic playback via the nforce mixer can be heard
loud and clear if activated.

Mobos tested , Asus a7n8x deluxe and Epox 8rda+
both mobos are NFORCE2 chipset and use MCP-T southbridge
(which supplies sound) Asus additionally has the Soundstorm
features while Epox uses AC97 dolby digital/analog.

sound test playback = echoes (NO external speakers used
only headset) , no matter what codec is used + helicopter
rattling/crackle is transmitted
The correct test would be talk and u hear yourself 1 time
not 2-3 times with decreasing volume + static like it is.
Same happens when transmitting to users...where the
helicopter static is more of the issue , excess echo wont take
place there as in self test.
Settings of nvidia mixer are nominal , line in and aux and cd
are muted, mic is muted for playback, booster is active.

and for the the 2 other people i regularly use teamspeak
and teamspeak server with ----> this happens now and
then as well ---> General bug in TS ...sudden degradation of
sound into a distorted mess that causes pain in the ears....can
be solved by closing TS and rejoining 1-2 times. Cause is
unknown.

thats my collection so far still i think its a great prog
with lotsa potential....1 feature i miss is simultaneous
text chatting which can be very useful if you need to
give a link or any other info that needs to be copy and pasted
ok you could do a server message but that kinda complicated
to use and the message window text is not obvious enuf.

this sounds very much like a problem with wave-sound recording... make sure your mic is the only sound-device which is selected for recording in your mixer (even your windows-standard mixer will provide the option to deselect it)

oh and pay attention... you can select your mic as output but still don't have it selected as recording device...

if this doesn't help you... there's a bunch of results, you can find when you use the search-function of this board with "AC97"...
Until now I assumed this to be a hardware-error which also occured with santa beach turtle curz soundcards... but since I found this Thread (http://www.teamspeak.org/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&threadid=5800), which you already replied to, I'm not sure whether it's hardware related or just a settings problem...
But I'd like to know which programs your soundcard works with... did you try your windows-recorder and just recorded your voice??? Please also try recording your voice while playing a soundfile (turn down your speakers' / headset's volume to not cause echos via mic)... when you playback the recording you shouldn't hear the soundfile, if you hear it, your wave-sound obviously gets recorded and that's your problem.
