Hi there,
Here is my pb: my computer is connected to a local network, and my internet connection goes through a local server, which plays the role of both a proxy and a firewall.
Unfortunatelly, the 8767 port is closed on the server, meaning that TS works perfectly well inside the local network, but is blocked if attempting to join an outside server. Looks normal till now, huh ?
So, of course, what i'd like to do is to be able to join this external ts server.
My first thought was just to ask the ts server owner to change the used port, so that his server would run on some opened port for me. We tryied different possibilities, like the 6667 (IRC) or the 1863 (MSN) that are opened from inside to outside on my local network (in UDP of course). But I still got the same response: "Unable to connect, No reply from server. Maybe the server is offline or maybe teamspeak is not running on it".
My second thought so was to connect from a third party proxy. That usually works great with softs like IE, FTP clients and so on. The trick is easy: I first connect to a socks on port 1080 that redirects me to any server on any port... Normally, that works (having the 1080 port opened for the socks and the 21 port closed for the FTP allowed me, by this method, to access any FTP I wanted to access)
So I tried this with TS, but once again, i get the same response "Unable to connect blablabla"
Could anybody have a clue of what I should try to do to get it working ?
PS: Of course, I do not have the possibility to have the 8767 port opened on the local network server :( (i wouldn't have had so much troubles btw ;))
Thanks to anyone that'll be able to help me :D :D :D
