Help connecting to Free Servers

Im new so bare with me please.how do i connect to the free public servers? can someone give me the ip address for those servers?
Most need passwords, and i dont belong to a clan.

Mostly iwant to play battlefield 1942, is there a good free server for this game?
i remember someone said OC48, how do i connect to that?

thanks satan, is there any other good free servrs you can recommend?

In the teamspeak servers, i only get access to the default channel, all the other channels need a password.
It is very limited on each server.
