I searched for an answer to this, but could not come across anything, so as a last resort I am posting. When I load my Teamspeak clinet, I get the traybar icon, but that is it. It will not show the actual interface for the program. What could cause this problem? I can connect and all that, but I can not setup my program to use a key to speak. Which is a problem.
Please help if possible.
System:
OS: Windows XP (service pack 1)
Video: GeForce FX 5200 ultra (had 5600 that is in the other computer)
Sound: C-Media
All drivers are up to date

No one has had this problem? NO ONE have ANY clue how to fix it????
could be related to the ****.conf (*** => I don't remember the full name of the file) file which is somwhere on your HD (good luck, you're having a search funtion).
You can delet this file and start the client again. Hope this helps

Searched for that file, came up with NOTHING for teamspeak. Anyone else got any ideas?
you have no .conf file ? Then you probably shuld tell us what kind of software you are using ? As far as I know every TS client installation creates a .conf file (should be on c:...\own files\...)
I'm not sitting in front of my TS PC, so I can't give you the exact name.

I just downloaded the newest version directly off this site yesterday.
so back home and on my TS PC.
1) I open up Explorer
2) I press Ctrl + F (search)
3) enter *.conf press search
and the first file it shows me is "TeamSpeak.Conf"
Are you staying with your version that you do not have a .conf file ????

Nope, I just did the same search and come up with no files even remotely named that. I installed the program yesterday, uninstalled it due to confusion on that, reinstalled it, same problem, uninstalled it again then reinstalled it, and it never fixed the problem

This seems really strange. What guldi has suggested should result in the conf file.
Just to make sure, you dl'd the client and not ther server right? The server will only show the tray icon and not have a CONF file.
Right-click on the tray icon and let us know what kind of menu comes up (ie what options). The client should have some options like "Connect," "Quick Connect," etc. The server should have "Administration," "Your IP's,"
, and "Exit."

I appreciate your trying to help, but I am aware of which is which, I am actually running both, because I am running a server from my system as well, which works FINE, because my roommate and a friend of ours can connect to the server fine, which I can as well, as long as I do a connect through the tray icon of the client, but I can not get the actual graphical model to appear. I continue to get an error that says "can not make a visible window modal" (and yes, I realize model is spelled as such, but it says modal or perhaps my spelling of model is mistaken).
your spelling of "model" is right, a "modal" window is one that is "in front" or "on top" of all other windows, e. g. waiting for a user input.:)

perhaps someone could help me obtain this file that I need? Because I obviously do not have it. Or are there ANY other suggestions?????
i actually have the same problem, i think it derived from using multiple displays, it seems to have disapeared of the viewable desktop, and is sitting what seems to be off the screen.
not being able to access any menus or change channels in ts servers is a real problem.
i reinstalled teamspeak several times trying different things, yet i still get the same problem, the new version did not fix it either.
im looking into the .conf file now,
originally the search did not pick it up, but after removing filters on hidden/system files it finds it,
i then deleted teamspeak.conf then loaded ts up, which re made the file and problem solved.
thanks.
hope it works for you too mayhem.
Try setting your screen resolution as high as it will go and then move the window back into the upper left side of the screen (don't maximize), and then switch back your resolution. Just a thought...

In which sub-directory does this file reside?
Well,
download 2.0.31.51 from the developer releases section, and that should fix the problem.

Ahh, yes, I forgot that the Application Data directory is hidden. One of the first things I do with a fresh Windows install is diable hiding hidden dirs.
btw, the TeamSpeak.conf is in %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Documents and Settings\<Windows_User_Name>\Application Data\teamspeak2
Back it up every once in a while now that you know where it is.
