Our team of approx 12 people are renting a server for Tribes2 and it also is our Teamspeak server. The port used by our TS server is 8768. Everyone can connect to this server fine...except for this one guy. We previously ran our own server on port 8767 and he connected fine. Just can't connect to our rented server on 8768.
I set up a server on a machine - port 8767 and this guy connects fine. I change the server to port 8768 (like our rented server) and sure enough...he can't connect to my server. He connects via cable connection and runs a wireless network - Dlink wireless router and Dlink DWL 520+ pci wireless card. Win xp - windows firewall not turned on. No software firewall and we have put him in the DMZ on his router and even made a hole in firewall for ports 8766 - 8769 just to try to cover all the bases.
Now...lets make things interesting....
I change my test server to port 8766 and the guy can connect to my server on port 8766. So, 8766 and 8767 work for this guy right? Well...we contact the owner of our rented server and explain that for whatever reason, one of our guys can't connect via port 8768 and ask him to change our rented server to port 8766 for teamspeak (since we had proved that the guy can connectt via 8766). The change was made on our rented server - it's now port 8766....but the poor guy cannot connect to it. Uuuugh! He has no problems playing Tribes2 on the rented server - game and ts run same address - just different ports.
I'm completely at a loss here
If he can connect to the server and play the game then why can't he connect to the ts server which is the same address - just different port?
Any help would be appreciated. I've tried to read all of the forums that looked related but have not yet found a match.
Thanks
