Hi,

First of all, Guldi, before you call me lazy for not reading the FAQ, I did ;)

The post on the faq site that refers to this error, is that the fix for the error message that I'm getting? Whenever I start TS server (RC2) the icon pops up in the tray at the bottom right of the screen. Then, when I right click on icon and the menu pops-up, I click on the administration, I think it says admin anyway its the very top option, I dont get the admin login screen.

All I get is Internet Explorer open with its default search engine and it appears to have searched for the page 'localhots:xxxx' as an actual web page instead of the admin screen.

Sorry if you think this is a waste of your time Guldi mate, but I had TS server working on my machine then, when I formatted and re-installed, I started to get this error. I'm running XP Pro and IE v6.0

Thanks for any help you can provide,
Rich.

Thanks for readin the FAQ :D

Maybe the problem is that the admin option is looking for 'localhots:xxxx' assuming xxxx=your webadmin port, and not 'localhost:xxxx'. I believe the default webadmi port is 14534 and you can even try opening it manually.

Open MSIE or whatever browser your using and in the address bar try "localhost:14534." that's assuming your webadmin port is default.

Not sure, maybe you had a typo and misspelled "localhost"

I've found the fault, I think it was something to do with Kazaa. Something I had re-sinstalled while setting my machine up had installed a program called 'My Search' basically it's a plugin for IE.

To fix the problem all you have to do is go to 'Add/Remove Programs' and uninstalled 'My Search'

Problem solved! Hope this helps someone.

Yes, to sum it up again (for those who experience similar problems and really did a search on the problem)... the problem you experienced was not the one, which is mentioned in the faq (because that one was fixed a long time ago)

so your problem was that a plugin for your internet-explorer does an unwanted search on what is meant to be the web-interface-address. to solve the problem, you can uninstall the plugin, deactivate it or use another web-browser to connect to http://localhost:14534
