Hi there, new here can i ask a question/s

Hi there

I have just recently joined a clan and they have asked me to see if i can get a headset... To which i have done, had one upstairs that came with my first ever PC, its not the best i imagin, but it will do, i think. The thing is i have not got a clue where to start.....

I have looked through the forums( So im not being lazy) here and i cannot find any NB starter information.. I mean i dont even know where you stick the headset thingy, it's got two cable ends, one pink, this is at the end of the cable and oneblack ,which is halfway up the cable.

questions

1, Where do i connect the headset, both ends, connectors..

2) i have donwnloaded Teamspeak, what happends next..

any tips or advice with be very welcomed, thank you very much here peeps.

1) One connector on the headset is for the headphones/speakers, the other is for the mic. The speakers connect to the output of your sound card, the mic connects to the input of your sound card.

Have a look on the back of your PC and maybe first try matching the colors of the connectors to the soundcard. My soundcard only has "gold" colors for all connections and I use a USB headset, so i'm not sure what the standard color coding is myself.

2) Install TeamSpeak client following ALL instructions.

3) Read the client manual (http://www.teamspeak.org/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=18991).

4) Test your setup using Settings | Sound Input\Output Settings | Local Test.

5) If you have specific question look through the FAQ (http://www.teamspeak.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=41) and search the forum, if not answered, ask here being specific.

thx for your help here..


hehehe, i might have some troubles here... The only leads i have coming out of my soundcard are, Front & back speakers sockets heads. When i first bought the SC there was some static noise when the four leads touched so i cut off the other two SC connectors, these must have been the Microphone etc..

I did not think i was ever going to use this function , Doh.. Can you pick any SC lead or does it have to be from that same company..

BTW my sound card is GameForttissmo 5.1...
