Yes, you need to keep the TS server AND the PC hosting it running.
If you only have FTP access to your website, then you CAN NOT put your TS server there. You must have access to a shell account to be able to run the server.

Uh, ok :) Only if u don't care my english :D
First, take a look to the TS2 server log, (u can find it in the program files\ts2 dir, with .LOG extension) and write down the ADMIN and the SUPERADMIN passwords. Ok?
After this, open a TS2 client in a machine near u. Also the same machine, if u have the client installed there.
In the upper menu, select "connect" and a new windows appear.
In the left part, click with right button and select "add server"
Now, in the right part of the window, in the SERVER ADDRESS space type the address of your server (if it's in your machine, type 127.0.0.1), type a fantasy name for NICKNAME, in the LOGIN NAME space type ADMIN and in the USER PASSWORD space type the pwd u wrote down before, for ADMIN.
Then click on the "connect" button, at bottom.
Congratulations! U r the admin of your server :)
Now u can create all the channels u need, clicking on the upper menu "channels->create channels". Remember to mark "registered" if u want that channel remain permanent.
Wof... I hope this hour of typing helps :)
Ciao (bye), Mauro (greetings from Italy :) )

if you do not understand, ask someone older to explain it. You need to have a basic understanding of networking, otherwise you are lost running a server as you have, depending on what network / connection to the WAN you are using, to set some port forwardings, open firewall,...
