View Full Version : A Lynksys BEFSX41 Owner Needs help.
Ok first of all This is my second attempt to get this prog working. Tried it early in the game, with no luck.
So I let this forum grow and I have read it till my eyes are bleeding :(
So I hope I don't get Flamed on my first post
I have also read the manual. :o
I have forced my machine to staic IP like below
Ip addy 192.168.1.50
Sub net 255.255.252.0
defa gateway 192.168.1.1
prefer DNS 24.25.227.32
alt DNS 24.25.227.32
router is Firmware updated aswell and set up as below
8767-8767 UDP 192.168.1.50
14534-14534 TCP 192.168.1.50
51234-51234 TCP 192. 168.1.50
port triggering is empty aswell
I've also tried to
BoundToIp=12.218.143.155 it didn't work and it grayed out my Adminstration tab in bottm right corner when you right click it.
It only has the one NIC card in aswell
The server works I can join it from inside my net no problem.
Just no one else can from outside. Its located @
Toad's
anonymous
12.218.143.155:8767
pass word is fly
Try it maybey my m8's just dont know how to join :( but not likely.
Hoping one of you have managed this Router and can lead me in the right direction.
And if by chance I have missed the answer on forum or manual I am totalyy sorry to of spammed this board with my ignorance. But please kind sirs if I have, point me to the link, and cure my  arse.
Oh boy this isnt' looking good:( 31 views and no replies.
Just one more thing I have DMZ'ed it aswell with no luck.
Actually the Router / firewall is working properly. Even if you DMZ the router is your main IP address and it assigns each computer a IP address in side the LAN 192.168.#.#
Outside your LAN if you are DMZ you will be able to receive packets and all your ports are open making your computer seeable to the Internet side of your firewall. Virus protection should be updated and used to make sure that your computer doesn't stay infected too long.
With this program you can use a public server and host on that. then just send your Chatt members the I.P. to connect in to the server. You should only DMZ when you really need to. and then shut it down. use PORT FORWARDING I had to open ports 3782 thru 3790 for Roger Wilcoto work on my linksys router. (still could not host aerver) Since I am now using DLINK router I did not have to do a thing to get TeamSpeak to work. I dont know the port assignment that teamspeak uses.
Give Linksys a call they should be able to walk you through port forwarding.

Ok well here goes man this is exactly what i had to do toget mine running. First off make sure you have the right ip set as the DMZ host. mine was 192.168.1.100. second you dont need to set static routing to anything. i have the dynamic routing set to gateway not router. i do have dhcp server setup on the router. (which by the way is that same as yours. as for port forwarding well you dont need them just turn em off since you are the dmz host.
Once i had the router set up anon users couldnt log into my server only registered users could join for some strange reason. which is fine by me. but if you want them in you have to add them into tthe registered user database in the ts22 server user section.
then give out the appropriate login and pasword to each user you want to allow on. make sure you give them the outside ip not the network ip. ie: 24.117.129.223 do not give them 192.168.1.100 as that will not work.
what you can do to test it to make sure it is running and other can join in is to enter the server with the outside ip which will force the computer to go to the internet first then back to your computer to join the server. if you use the network address you have to join the server then others cannot join the server unless they are on the network also. you MUST use the outside ip to get onto your own server.
But i have the exact same router you have right now the linksys befsx41 or whatever to dark to read numbers right now. amd mine works great i get average of 10 people on it all the time now.
Question lavinrac
Dou you have thais server plugged into the DMZ port on router or are you making it DMZ with the Router software?
My server is in garage on a 8 port switch and 1 more machine with it out there. For me two DMZ it by placing it in the DMZ port of router I would be placing it the switch and the other machine DMZ aswell? correct.
Oh and I've hosted RW on it for a couple of years no problem, just that its a fickle prog. and would like to get this one going. I used to have a pevious version of lynksys but it went bad and ended up with this one. I could join RW from outside ip from inside the net, But with this Router I am not able too anymore. So what I'm saying is I can't join TS that way either only from internally.
I'll call Linksys tommorrow and see if they can shead some light.
Thanks guys

Ok well i am making mine dmz host with the router software. Just make sure you have the internal network ip of YOUR computer when you insert it into the dmz section of the setup. Other than what i told you before and this right here i dont know what else you can do without me being there to see hwo you have it all setup. hope this helps you out and you get it working.
Found this in the manual hope it helps
If you are using a firewall TeamSpeak requires to have an UDP port open. The standard port for this is UDP port 8767 but can be configured in the server.ini file of the TeamSpeak server.
For the server you only need that UDP port for normal operation. If you want to have webadmin access you need to open TCP port 14534 and for telnet access TCP port 51234. These are both the standard ports but can be changed in the server.ini file.
You can use TeamSpeak 2 even if you are behind a firewall with NAT. You’ll have to ask your firewall admin (might be you yourself) to forward the UDP port 8767 (the standard port, it can be configured though) to your computer or use connection tracking in the firewall rules.
Ok so I got it going.
I had to set default on router then unplugged evry machine, router, switch and let them set for a bit then I plugged in modem let it run it diagnose then router and its diagnoise then switch then booted machines then set router port settings and now it work. Oh also put the switch in the garage on the DMZ port of router but I did not DMZ it. Just opened port.
Now I have another question about program not working with Vietcong. It worked fine with IL2FB last night. But when VC is running all you see are the lights on names when they speak but no sound comes out. I'll post a new thread about this, so need to reply to question here.
