Hi all,
here is small plugin for teamspeak, with one functionallity only: attach text line.
if somebody will find this tool usefull, i will continue with it..

Right.. it's a design concept...

I would stop developping it, we are going to implement such a thing for the final anyway. It would be uncool for you to put time in it now.

Thanks anyway!

I apprieciate your efforts and am aswell doing a bit of developing myself. I don't really mind if TS-Team ends up adding anything I might come up with and am sure many of us feel that way. Good going Lion

I like the way the added bar looks. Well I like the size and feel of it most of all. Very nice to be able to type something and hit enter and it is sent and then do it again. But this is something that can not continue as an add-on or plugin. This is something that must be included. It is such a small thing and it should be used by everyone. Read the link in my sig. to see how I would like it to work.

By the way, the way I want it to work would not require the chat-bar to be any larger than the one that you can download above but should still have the customizable functions that I list in the post that I link to in my sig. for more demanding users.

I am not such a demanding user and would be perfectly fine if the chat-bar would only always send text to the channel you are currently connected to. I will however be disappointed if by default the chat-bar will not at least do that.

Updated.

All Features:
1. powerfull text line (with channel combo)
2. event text-to-command line.
3. play sound on event. (please specify full text of event, eg: Leon joined channel). If you specify only nick, you will hear sound every time, then nick "Leon" appears in log window.

Heh Execellent TTS... little buggy but i have some parts of it working :)

I cant get the Event's working (custom events..)

little more detail into how it should be setup and it might work... i dunno i have tried many things.

Does Execute command on new event have to be checked?

that is the only way that i can hear TTS events... but i cant (or might not know how) to add specific events, or it isnt working for me.

Anyways keep up the good work its sweet to be able to hear who's joinning the channel.

The idea of this stuff is good. We actually already planned it in our final release before Lion came up with it ;)

But still it's nice!

reviewed layout, added help strings, fixed Delete bug, added Match case checkbox.

{XG} Acad
10-08-2003, 18:57
Much better layout :)

Before i was under the impression that event that you put in there (Joined) would be the only ones that would get passed to the TTS Engine.

insted of executing all event you could just specify which you would like to hear...

(maybe have an option button for TTS or wave operation...) so that it doesnt speak everything to you just the things you want it too..

I dunno not that important, but i would use that over custom wave's and it wouldnt be that hard to implement.

Anyways good job :) didnt realise how much i missed TTS until lately.. TS2 Final should rock.

Very nice tool, keep developing it! :)

Further features i could imagine:
-Option to start TeamSpeak if it isn't started, yet.
-Option to automatically switch to listen-mode (e.g. try every 5-10 seconds)
-Option to start minimized

Thanks in advance!

The text line will attach to my client but that's all it will do.
There aren't any channels showing up in the channel choosing dropdown box. If I type text, it doesn't show up anywhere in the dialogue box.

I have tried using talk2me as a commandline tts engine and usually after 5 minutes it will take 100% CPU which makes me hard reboot my computer.

I haven't fiddles with the other functions yet.

Hi woutur,
There was a bug nr. 431 with TSRemote.dll, but in last version (2031) of teamspeak it was fixed (concerning text line).
(please make sure, you have right TSRemote.dll specified in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TeamjoinTool\teamjoin\S ettings\SdkDllPath. My path is C:\Program Files\Teamspeak2_RC2\client_sdk\TSRemote.dll.

about text-to-speech.
It seems to be a problem with your text-to-speech engine(voice) or text-to-speech api, installed on your pc. To make sure try to run talk2me program in command line for 4-6 times, and see for result in task manager.
note: text-to-speech technology takes a lot of cpu, and may be too laggy to use on slow pc-s.

I will write text-to-speech feature into plugin (without running external applications), if I will have time or if this feature will not be implemented in TeamSpeak client in few weeks.

If anyone else encounter with some problems, please let me know.

next features (will be added soon):
-Option to start TeamSpeak if it isn't started, yet.
-Option to automatically switch to listen-mode (e.g. try every 5-10 seconds)
-Option to start minimized
--Overlay on bottom of screen with event text, and maybe nick of currently talking user.

I think there's a bug with saving the settings:
"Execute command on new event" and the filter for it is not saved.

And another feature request (minor): perhaps you can put the program in the tray.

My path is specified correctly in the registry and I am running the latest version of TeamSpeak, 2.0.31.55.

My TSremote.dll is 98304 bytes and has 22-7-2003 as date.

Hi, you can find ealier link from 1 page, here it is:
http://www.teamspeak.org/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=31476

PS. I'm working on next release of teamjoin plugin, version 2.
features:
1. Voice Controllable system.
You can use our own voice to fully control TeamSpeak, for example press some F key, and say: Switch to Team B channel. And you will be switched to Team B. You will be able to map any TeamSpeak action (available in sdk, tsremote.dll) to voice command.
2. Start minimized AND/OR trayed.
3. Start TeamSpeak if not running.
4. Text to speech integrated system
5. Map any event to wav file.
etc.
the only problem is time.. :/

LionbI4,

Okay, Text to Speech causes issues with at least AAO (I am guessing CPU hits from TSS). So I am wanting to go the wave file route for when I join a Channel and when Players, join and leave the channel that I am in.

However, this is getting hard to do.

I have setup Events with "to channel" with the TS Channel name after it (just like the event text in TS). But the two events below casues me to hear my wave that I have joined the channel. As you can tell "to channel Ranger's Office" is in both events. But only one is me joining the channel.

You switched [to channel Ranger's Office]

{TX}Ranger moved by {TX}Ranger [to channel Ranger's Office]

Now I would just put "You switched to channel Ranger's Office" to kick off my wave file but I can not read what is in the box once saved.

Perhaps if you had a "Lable Name" that showed up in the UI and what that lable name = in a different setup text box.

Example:
1. Ranger's Office Channel displayed in UI (just a label)
2. Then click a button which brings up the configuration for Ranger's Office that has the event text information and wave file path in it. Perhaps event being able to defind more than one event to this wave would be good (for when I drag myself into Ranger's Office).

Anyways, I do love this little program and I hope you do not mind my post (ideas)

LionbI4,

Thanks, that gave me the dll.

Side question, do you have a list of functions located inside TSRemote.dll or do you know where I can find that list? I have been tring to add more function to the demo app provided with the SDK but for some reason I am not able to understand how to call the functions inside TSRemote.dll, I have been looking at TsRemoteImport.pas but I am kind of lost...

LionbI4
11-12-2003, 19:46
Hi Gossamer,
You was right, the TsRemoteImport.pas file is that you need.
It contains all functions from TSRemote.dll.
To get a list of all functions in any dinamic link library you can use Dependency Walker (DEPENDS.EXE) from Microsoft Visual Studio, but it will not display parameters info.

LionbI4.

Gossamer

Many thanks I am still lost, are you using VBx for developing? if so would you mind posting a sample of how to retrive the player list into an array or a string var (I can parsh it from there)?

LionbI4

It is very complicated to write such plugin on visual basic.
i'm using ms visual c++.
here is code to retrieve channel list:

// declarations

typedef int (CALLBACK *lpGetChannels)(tsrChannelInfo* channels, int* count);

struct tsrChannelInfo {
int ChanId;
int ChanParentId;
int PlayerCount;
int ChannelFlags;
int codec;
char name[30];
};

// initializations
hsdk = ::LoadLibrary(sdkdll);

//...

lpGetChannels tsrGetChannels = (lpGetChannels)GetProcAddress(hsdk, "tsrGetChannels");

tsrChannelInfo channels[256];
char strchannels[256*50];
int strSize = sizeof(tsrChannelInfo);
int size = 256;
tsrGetChannels((tsrChannelInfo*)strchannels, &size);
TCHAR channelname[32];

for (int i = 0; i < size; i++)
{
memcpy((void*)&channels[i], strchannels+50*i, 50);
#ifdef _UNICODE
MultiByteToWideChar( CP_ACP, 0, channels[i].name,sizeof(channels[i].name),channelname,32);
#else
strcpy(channelname, channels[i].name);
#endif
int idx = m_cmbchannel.InsertString(i, channelname);
m_cmbchannel.SetItemData(idx, channels[i].ChanId);
}
m_cmbchannel.SetCurSel(0);

What is "PwdSpyHk.dll"?
It says "Password Retrieval Application" in the file description.
Would you please explain that?

LionbI4
30-03-2004, 17:25
This dll is used to retrieve text from rich text control - TeamSpeak status window.
In Windows NT its not possible to get text from rich text controls with normal way (getwindowtext), whats why I have to use windows hooks.
Please see http://www.codeguru.com/Cpp/misc/samples/article.php/c4687 for detailed info.

[DK]Mr. Burns

How can i use this plugin???:confused:

pbarrette
30-03-2004, 20:56
Hi [DK]Mr. Burns,

This program can filter the messages that are displayed in the Teamspeak status window.

It then launches the command of your choice when your filtered message event occurs and can send the text of that message event as a command-line parameter for your launched command.

For example:
I want a Text-to-speech message to be played whenever someone joins the server.

1) I download a command-line text-to-speech program that works with my built-in, WinXP TTS reader like this one:
http://sound-freak.no-ip.org/

2) I run TeamJoin and put in the following values:
Command line: "echo $text$ | X:\path\speak.exe -u 0"
Execute command only if match with: "joined"

3) I check the "Execute command on new event" box.

4) I click the "Start Listen events" button.

Now when someone joins the server, TeamJoin passes the "PlayerName joined the server" text to SPEAK.EXE and SPEAK.EXE then uses the MS-SAPI to say "PlayerName joined the server".

When I found TeamJoin for the first time, I quickly wrote a mini server-side app for Delta Force Blackhawk Down that will take text from the command line and dump it into the game as a message from the host.

Using that combo, I can announce to the entire server via a text message who joined the teamspeak server, or who moved to what channel, or whatever else I can filter out using Teamjoin.

Now that I think about it, I can probably use the proxy-DirectX-dll from myrotacol.net to push the messages to just my own screen in-game.. But that's a completely different angle.

----------------------------

LionbI4,

I'd love it if you finished this app. You might also want to take a look at this board for some really interesting stuff:

Greetings.

I've downloaded your program and wanted to see what it can do, unfortunately it doesn't work. I get the following error message when launching it:

This application has failed to start because PwdSpyHk.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
I did a quick google search on that and found 2 hits, one for PestPatrol saying it's a virus, and another that says it's a dll used be a Password revealing program (PasswordSpy) and that it's not a virus. When I downloaded PasswordSpy, it didn't have the dll in it's installation.

Any thoughts??

This is such a great idea. I can't, for the life of me, get it to work though.

I run teamspeak, I run teamjoin, I have the following checked:

Execute Command on New Event
Play sound on join for following events

My command line is: C:\desktop\teamjoin2\gov.exe -e19 $text$

My events are:

join
quit

I have "Start Listen" pressed.

When users join or leave I get nothing. I have all the MS TTS stuff installed in WinXP pro and have other TTS applications that work fine and have no problems with that other app that does this that I don't want to use.

Thanks!

Hi all,

A lot of people seem to be having problems finding the correct DLL's, getting the Text-to-speech program working, figuring out how to use TeamJoin, etc.

To help deal with the confusion, I have grabbed all of the components necessary to run TeamJoin and placed them all into a single zip file.

I have replaced the Govorilka program that Lionb4I included in the original release with a program called "speak.exe". The Govorilka program only works with the MS Speech API v4.0 while the file I have included works with the newer SAPI 5.1 update. Speak.exe doesn't have all of the fancy options like Govorilka, but it works on most systems and is smaller in size.

I have also written up a Readme file for using this program to help guide you through the initial installation and configuration.

Hopefully this will help some of you in using this excellent software.

Thanks,
pb

Ref: pbarrette's teamjoin.zip

I can't seem to get teamjoin to utilize the command line section. The wav file section works fine but the speak.exe does nothing. Can anyone help? my command line is c:\program files\teamjoim\speak.exe "$text$" and the events are joined,left,moved

I have tested the speak.exe program at the dos prompt and it works fine. Evidently, there is a problem with the variable $text$ being passed from/to teamspeak and teamjoin.

thanks

Ok, the c:\program files\teamjoin should be c:\progra~1\teamjoin\speak.exe

I guess I should have realized that it had to conform to the old dos format.
thanks, again ppbarrette, you've been a big help.

LionbI4,

Fantastic plugin. I also find "Execute command on new event" & "Play sound for ........" do not save and are disabled by default.

Would it be possible to add an option to select which sound device it is played back through.
Reason being that most people in our clan use Blutooth headsets just for Teamspeak and have the main game sound through standard speakers. With the current config Teamjoin comes out through the speakers and is difficult to hear and make out when in the middle of a game. (It would be nice to hear it on the headset)

Cheers and best of luck :D

Thanks for the work lionb4 and to pbarette for the explanation. When a player joins, a dos box momentarily appears while speak.exe is executing. This promptly boots me to desktop, thus removing any useful feature of the text to speech capabilities inside teamspeak. The WAV file option works brilliantly. Is there anyway to stop the dos box from appearing when speak.exe executes?

07-08-2004, 17:19
Hey LionbI4,

is it possible for guys to change preffered device in Sound&Multimedia options?

Unfortunatly no, it appears we would need Teamjoin to have the functionality.

Sound&Multimedia options must have output set to external for the games and this is what Teamjoin seems to latch onto. Where as Teamspeak can be configured independantly to Bluetooth Audio.

Oh well we will live. Thanks for the reply and perhaps one day you might just get board enough to have another go.... :D

I followed the directions step by step, but it still doesn't work. Nothing happens when people move, join, leave, etc., unless i make my own Events.

If the name of a dll is not something you like, I can change file name in next release to "PleaseDontLookToTheNameOfThadDllItWillNotHarmYourP CorSomething.dll"
or "JustSimpleDllThatWillDoNothing.dll".
But it will still use windows hook to retrieve text from rich text box of teamspeak..

Just for info: Speak.exe is not something I wrote and I can't guarantee it will work. Gov.exe - same. Thats why I implemented INTEGRATED text-to-speech feature. Press test button to test if text-to-speech works from my tool on your pc.

Ok just dl this little program script and would like to use it but for some reason my virus protection picks it rite up. So I am sorry but I will not be using this and would like it if you could up date it and fix it correctly so this doesn't happen any more. Here is a link to the screen shot of the virus info http://www.cyber-velocity.com/image/teamjoinvirus.JPG . I'm sure many more people would use it if it wouldn't detect as a virus or if it was easier to use. It seems alot of them want to use it but either can't figure out how to or well it show's up as a virus. Sorry but i'm not goin to use something from someone that I don't know that show's up as one. So maby you can figure out what is wrong with your program and fix it and many more people will use it or we can just wait for the TS team to do it right and use it then. Just a thought GL.

no malicious behavior. If you still believe the files you sent contain a
virus or

In most cases it can respond almost instantly with a solution. This may also
be the
best option if you are having a problem with gateway scanners stripping your
sample
submission.

Note -

Due to the prevalence of network gateway AV products, it is important that
all
submissions be zipped and the zip file password-protected (password -
infected). Some
products will reject an email that contains a virus that is not sent in this
way. In
addition, often we receive a file that appears not to have been infected, to
find
later that the file was infected when it left the sender, and was cleaned
somewhere
along the line.

Yeah, I don't need software to tell me when a file is bad. This is very very bad. My initial remarks about it being good was from reading its description, and reactions.

However, I can't get it to "work". Furthermore, it doesn't look like ANYONE has gotten it to work. Which leads me to believe that the dll files are all here to steal passwords, and may be a way people are having their TeamSpeak servers comprimized.

Since a spyware scanner found this bad as well, I'd say you would be safe in assuming it is dangerous.

Can you post the link to the newest version of teamjoin?

btw: is it still necessary to have the PwdSpyHk.dll? are there any other ways to perform the tasks?`

P.S. I read about the problem with Win NT

...just perousing this thread...it looks like I'll hold off on this until the spyware/virus issues have been worked out. It sounds pretty cool though. :(

Why we need another way ? If it is working now.
There is still strange bug in teamjoin. Sometimes it stops to listen events.
If someone knows, how to reproduce - please tell.

This means SOFT version of teamjoin ONLY with text line for chat.

GREAT plugin!!!

I'm using what APPEARS to be the newest version of teamjoin but it still won't save and utilize all the settings. The reason for my doubt regarding the version, is that the 2 last versions I laid my hands on both was 1.0.1.
The version I'm using is 65.536 bytes in size and last changed January 4. 2005.

In the main window:

- Don't save "Use text-to-speech for incoming event"
- Don't save "Execute command on new event"
- Don't save "Play command for following event"
- Don't save "Do not execute command (specified..."

Under the "Options" page:

- Won't save OR utilize "log file path"
- Saves "Start TeamSpeak2 if not started" but doesn't utilize it.
- Saves "Start Teamjoin minimized" but doesn't utilize it.
- Won't save OR utilize "To tray"

Wish

Why not throw ALL settings for the program into an ini or dat file which is placed in the programs own folder?
It would be a lot easier for us all to make a copy of the whole dir including program and settings to our friends.
