Intermitant break down of sound

I have experienced a number of times when the quality of the sound that comes back to me from other users can sometimes deteriorate beyond the capacity for me to understand what is being said.

I understand that there are issues with Win XP and SB Live cards, both of which I have, and was wondering whether this was the issue or whether something else needs tweaking?

On the server I am using the GSM 16.4 Kbit codec and was wondering if changing this would help. I have also recommended that anyone who connects restrict the bandwidth usage to 64.

This is not something that happens all the time just occasionally and when it does happen not everyone comes through distorted. We often find that other people can still here each other when I cant and vice versa.

I'm not totaly sure but I remember reading something about a DSP issue which could cause this problem. I think the Dev's will look into this.

I experienced this sometimes too. But it's realy not common and I considered this till now as connection problems (remember, the www connection is never a perfect one and voice is probably the most sensitive application).

I know, not a great help, but keep looking into this site to check for updates. Maybe there is realy a porblem with some DSP's which can be solved by a TS update ?
