Hi there. Using TS2. And running server on dedicated. for a while now.
Problem: didnt change anything..., but no1 can connect anymore...
Including me. Acces to administration is no problem.
Server file started (at server comp) and seems to work fine (just looking at the startup...no errors).

Did shutdown firewall...still not working..
Trying to update ip's (wont work ..error)
Did run the install again, but nothing changed.

Error is : No reply from server. Maybe server is offline...ect ect

T.s. ClientVersion :202840
Server downloaded the same day...

Is TS automaticly updated to a newer version or something like that?

All worked fine before....

you should update your client / server (which version do you have) ? Client 202840 must be a VERY old one !

TS is not capable of doing an automated update !

Maybe its old . Yep. But it stopped working changing nothing... (and this old version worked fine without any problems)

Maybe there's a timelimit?

But i will try a update today...maybe it will help ;)

Did remove all now and made a new install with the latest version.
Also used the new client.

Still got the same error:

No reply from server.
Maybe the server is offline or
maybe teamspeak is not running at it

Never had this problems before...and did not change anything at all before...
Im behind a router. Also shutdown of all firewalls would not help.
Can use some help... THX

get your server-version out of the server.log (it's posted in that file) and get your client-version string out of your client by clicking help / about.
I want full strings like 2.0.xx.xx .

then I would start having a look at your network:

- can you ping the server IP ?
- is the server port open to you (use a port scanner) ?

You said you have access to the webadmin but you get a no replay from server. That's strange

I can ping the ip. Its same ip as on my client comp.
Dont know how to check the port. What program or command can i use?

Webadmin is np. I mean, can acces the server admin (on the server pc)without problems.

so you have a client on the same PC the server is running and you can't even connect from this client ? Do I understand you right ? Which IP are you using to connet from the client to the server (on same PC) ?

Free port scanner can be downloaded from the web by searching with google ('port scanner', take the Nmap or however it's called).

Nope i have 1 pc for the client and 1 pc for the server. There both behind a router. I will search for Nmap

Ok, did try nmap. When i used the right way it wouldnt connect to the port.

Further i did try to connect with my client to the local router ip where the server is on and...it connects. So it connect to the local ip. Dont know what to do next......

I've had this problem.

I had the "allow server to assign a nickname" option in the Connection screen unchecked, with nothing in the Nickname field. This strangely gives you the "login failed" error message.

uhm, sorry, but it's sort of a default setting that you can't connect to your local computers with your external ip if you're behind a router (many routers are set up to ignore such packets by default).

So you, which means all your local computers that are in a local area network, connect to your server with the local address. All remote computers, which means all your mates who connect to you via internet, have to connect to your external ip.

They normally connect to a port which is like a roomnumber in a large skyscraper. You go into it and first of all go to the information, which is your router in this case. You tell the router which room you want to find, which is the portnumber in this example.
So your router has to know what to do with traffic on the incoming port. Else if the information-guy in your skyscraper doesn't know where to find the room himself, he'll just tell you "no such roomnumber" and you're blocked.

So if you're using a router, you should always read the router-manual to know how to get it working correctly. Now you have to tell the router that it should forward incoming traffic on the portnumber of your ts-server (default is 8767) to the correct server, which means to its IP-Address in your Local Area Network.
Have a look for "port forwarding", "routing", "hosting a server" in your router's manual, I'm quite sure this will help you.
