In this FAQ item: [Client] Codec not supported (http://www.teamspeak.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7243) the following is suggested:
When trying to enter a server or channel the client gives an error message: Codec not supported.

Solution:
Upgrade your TeamSpeak client. You are using an old version of it that doesn't have support for the variety of new codecs the modern ones have. Download it from our homepage.
I just wanted to point our that we had the same problem after installing the newest TS client (and not having any other TS previously installed).

Curiously enough, we were 5 of us testing TS for the first time on a small server, and 3 of us could immediately speak without problem, while 2 (including me) got the above error and were muted. I finally tried to create a new channel on the server (we were in the entrance lobby) and, very strange, I could suddenly speak and hear (green light)! The other 4 players entered the new channel and all 5 were then able to speak....

If we returned to the main lobby, I was again unable to speak/hear with the codec problem...

On another server that we tested later, none of us 5 had the above problem.

The impression we got, is that NOT ONLY THE CLIENT needs to be updated, as stated in the FAQ, but maybe there's some issue also with the version of the user who creates one room on the server. Is this possible?

No, it's our fault and we're working on it.
Latest installer lacked the codec checker. Newer version will have it again.

Does it mean that I have to look for an older version? Or is this "trick" of creating a new channel a solution that we can use until the new installer is out? Although I'm not sure we can always create a new channel.... so there should probably be a better solution ;)

we're sorry for any problems, but a bug in the installer causes the error that some codecs aren't installed correctly.

So if you create a new channel and choose a codec that is installed on your computer then you shouldn't have any problems. To get all Codecs installed you just need to run the installer of an older version before installing the latest version. There'll be a fix as soon as possible.

concerning that server-update: nope, the server-version is fine. I guess you just experienced no problems because you joined a server that just doesn't allow any other codec than the Speex one (such as public server 1). As far as I know the speex-codec is still installed correctly, so all of you could speak.

new version (Client 2.0.32.60) released which should fix the problem, so give it a try:
