I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I didn't see it. Whenever I talk I hear myself in my speakers and everyone can hear music if I'm playing it, even if I'm using headphones. If I open my sound properties and mute the mic in playback they can't hear me. I have the microphone set up in recording at full volume and mic boost too.
make sure only the micro is selected as recording source !

It is definately the only one in my sound settings, but is there an option for this somewhere in TS, too?
ähm wait, if you mute your micro in playback, they can't hear you
The right setting for this application would be:
- select ONLY micro as recording source
- mute micro in playback (otherwise you should hera yourself)
Have you tested the loopback mode in TS with this setting ? If you can't here yourself, then you have probably very strange / broken drivers or a broken HW ???
What Soundcard do you have. A Turtel beach ?
In TS you can select the sound devices. You can try playing with them (sry, not sitting in front of my TS client so can't help you more).

If I mute on playback I cannot hear myself, nor can anyone else hear me. I have a Avance AC'97 onboard audio chip.

it's a mixer-problem, try it again and play with all the options in your mixer.

Check and make sure you are using a recommended codec for your internet connection. Also try removing the music from the equation and see if that helps. Let us know what your results are.

i have the same problem and i don't understand why
Hey [rD]MrPink ,
I have the same problem with my AC97 soundcard on an MSI motherboard. I had to install a $15 pci soundcard I bought from a trade show and plug my mic into that card and use the 5.1 outputs from my AC97.
Try the new drivers from October 2003 on the realtek.com.tw website.
Hope that helps

I have the MSI KT3 Ultra AC97 system as well and everyone say's I have a "buzzing" type sound. I have tried every possible combination to get it fixed. One individual stated I should get an Audigy Soundblaster card, but there have been noted conflicts with built-in sound cards and Creative Labs Cards.
What type of sound card did you get and could you explain how you set it up in more detail?
Thanks,
Lowflyr

There is a setting under <Settings>, <Activate local test mode>.
Make sure that the button says "Activate" and NOT <Deactivate local test mode>.
If you have this set to on, then it will send your output to the pc speakers or headset.
