View Full Version : getting around firewall
I am using the latest versions of ts server and client. My os is windows xp with default firewall running. My question is how do I set my server to operate outside my firewall? I have read most of the posts in general and havent found anythig yet. unless port forwarding is the answer. If so what is it and how do I set it up?
thanks for all the help

Nope, forwarding is the wrong answer, unless you have a router/firewall between the Internet and your Computer?
So, you have activated the XP Firewall? Well, than you have to open the Port you use (default 8767).
Open the preferences of the Internet connection -> Firewall -> Options.
There you add a service "TeamSpeak" (or whatever you want)
IP-Adress: "localhost" should do.
Both Ports "8767", UDP.
That's it! Well, I've never tried it myself, so don't burn me if it's not working!
Better solution:
Turn the XP-Firewall off, and install a better one!
A "Application Firewall" would be good -> "Troyan's" and Spyware have no chance!
