I talked to my webhosting company and they said if i needed any permissions that they would give them to me. So with that said is their any way i can upload the software or something to me webhosts server and be able to run TS2 from there so that i dont suck up bandwith from my game. I want to host a teamspeak server for my team through my webhost. Is this possible and how?

you'll need to be able to execute the server file on your webhoster's server... ask them whether you can really do that. (you'll need a shell account).

PS: read the server's manual (installing section)

They said that they have Windows servers and inorder to have shell access they would have to be Linus or Unix. So with that said can I do this with a Windows server and its non a dedicated or collocated ip. Its shared.

Well, there's a port of OpenSSH to Windoze, i don't see why not.

(On a side note: Webhosting on Windoze machines? Those beg to be hacked. Make backups often)

Ask them to run TSServer as a "service" for you, This means you will only have as high a control of the server as SuperAdmin and no control on firewall and only have access to teamspeak DB through the WebAdmin . They would have to open your desired ports and read out the SuperAdmin login and password for you, not great but doable and easy.

A word of caution in this type of set-up:
DON'T HAND OUT (SA) PRIVELEDGES TO JUST ANYONE.
Your server provider will not want to babysit yourserver.

They said they will not run any software they have to run. The only think they do is give me the space not run programs and stuff.

I figured, most webhosts companies are this way.

Unless you have a friend that is willing to run the server for you on his own server. or you can get a shell account somewhere that will accomodate this level of script/program you are stuck considdering the companies that charge to run a server for you.

@grolley

don't be surprised ! I don't know any free webspace hoster who allows you to execute programs on their websapce. In generall a free webspace is ONLY for webpages (http, php,...) files.
Between such a service and a service where you're allowed to execute a program is HUGE difference (security,...). It's therefore MORE then understandable that they do not allow this higher service for free !

As Cstar_maxim says, if you know someone at an ISP you may be lucky !
The www is a great place but even here, not every thing can be free (and this is good so) !

I dont have a free host. I pay a yearly fee for my domain and my hosting company.

then you have a contract stating what service you're allowed to use. If this covers only webhosting, you're out of luck !
You need explizite rights to execute binaries on your space.

....You will no doubt have to contact the hoster and offer them MORE $$$

( I am assuming you are only paying for webspace.....check your services contract)
