View Full Version : [TS 2.0] - [Counter-Strike 1.5] - [ALL]
Here is my story,
my clan tested the new TeamSpeak after it was released.
Things were going great when we were all in windows.
But then one user connected to a Counter-Strike server and he was able to talk anymore, the only thing we heard was a loud noise. But when he minimized Counter-Strike, he could talk normal.
We all tried it and all had the same problem, even we other codecs we still where having this problem. A loud instant noise, some sort of zooming, but when we minimized CS, it was gone.
Server : Windows 2000 Pro. (SP2)
Clients : Windows 2000 Pro., Windows XP Pro. & Windows 98
(none of the clients worked like they should)
We had this problem in TeamSound (another program too), but in TeamSpeak 1.0 this worked great.
I also spotted several people asking about questions about the same problem.
Hope it gets fixed soon,
take care
indied i was a client ..... they kicked me of the noice when i was opening counter-strike
if u wanne see what sound card i have look @ my profile ..
but it is a creative live bulk 1.5 :D
same prob here!
i get kicked of my mates, coz i hurt their ears lol

i hosted a server on my xp machine and ts2 worked fine on my and 2 other pcs but another friend had the same problems as already described here. he has the sb 128. the others used the audigy as i and a terratec but i dont exactly know which.
We tried to play CS with TS 2.0 yesterday. And as all other post here, it worked wonderfull in windows, but when we connected to a server the whole prog started to lagg. We could not here anything that anyone said, just a few words.
So we went back to ver. 1.5 again :(
I hope that you will solve that soon.
Did you try using "WAV" rather than Direct Sound?
no we dind't , i am waiting for the host on this moment so we can try it
Ill try that.
If it works or not ill write here.
i tryed it but i dont think it works here
lol! i think ts2 suxx in all ways! ts1 is ways better!!!
when i'm closing ts2 with the x, my system hangs up. i'm not the only one with this prob. then i'm screaming when i'm starting cs, and noone can hear me!
bc, gv, rw, ts1 all works fine! but not ts2.
nice GUI, nice voice from that girl but the function suxx
 ! :( !
Teamspeak 2 is not working with counter-strike - confirmed.
(same problems as everyone)
I have tried almost everything, including "Wave" instead of "DirectSound", no change. :(
In order for TS 2.0 to work with cs i had to change this settings...
use wave instead of direct sound
disable direct input <- it laggued my game when using a buy script and randomly sometimes
set ts to realtime priority
btw... this are my specs
WIN XP
Athlon xp 2200+
MSI K7T266Pro2
Annihilator 2 GTS
Monster Sound MX-300

No it does not work... As everyone els say... In windows it works fine but not in CS!
same Problem here. Within Windows Ts2 works perfectly. But as soon as I start Cs I dont understand one word. When Cs is minimized it works correctly again.
the Ts2 Server runs with a 100MBIT connection. And I have a 1MBIT down 256k up connection. So it shouldnt be a bandwidht Problem.
Hope you find a way to make TS2 better work together with Cs. Cause between this Cs Problem its a realy nice tool.

try setting the priority of the client to realtime. If that locksup ur computer, try this patch http://www.teamspeak.org/files/TeamSpeak_patch17.zip
If that alone does not work, set sound to wave or increase the direct sound buffer size.
Wow it's a major game that TS is used for so I guess they need to look into this pronto ?

They are and remember this is release candidate 1, they have since released 4 patches. I am sure they could not get it done fast enough for most, heck I want it yesterday LOL.

Hey all...
this is the 3rd voice program ive seen has problems with sound when you connect to online games...
we used roger wilco before and found out that people with win xp OS has problems when they connect to counter strike. Every time they try to talk ingame there comes a background noise that is very bad. but when they only are in windows every thing work 100% fine.
TS2 has the same problem with win xp when you connect to game every time they speak thers a background noice so you cant understand what they say
here is a link to the same problem as TS2 has just on roger wilco
http://www.forumplanet.com/rogerwilco/topic.asp?fid=3509&tid=623405
If you fix this win xp problem ill garanti that TS2 will get 1000 of new users...
This is not a problem with TS2 because myself and some friends have had the same problem with Roger Wilco and TS1 and it seems to be more to do with the Counter-Strike ingame comms.
When i set the following cvars the problem went away.
voice_scale "0"
voice_enable "0"
voice_forcemicrecord "0"
sv_voiceenable "0"
voice_modenable "0"
I'm sure all of them don't need to be turned of but hey nm :)
HI.
That workaround is okay but i use teamspeak & the hl/cs voice comms - so i can talk to the team separately to my mates, and bind the chat activation to separate keys of course.
So i for one will continue using teamspeak 1.5 for now.
Along those lines...where can i download the linux server for TS 1.x? I only see the TS2 server on the linux download page.
Also is the TS2 server compatible with 1.x clients?

hi,
i have also winxp and my system crashes completely when i try to close my ts2.
I know it is because the process priority is set to realtime.
Now I don't use ts2 anymore(coz it doesn't like me and my ISDN-connection :/), but my client version doesn't have this option(23.23).

We have absolutley no problems with sound. Just for some guys when you try to press the talk key, it will make you walk in the game or make you crouch.

for all people having problems with noise or choppy sound:
first of all use low codecs when playing games (5.2 kbits/s).
but the most important thing is that you enable 8bit recording!
using 8bit recording only will surely solve your noise problems.
also try using wave or direct sound with lowest latency.
