Hey guys,

I am running a TS server through holdouts and am having a problem. I beleive the server at work is not allowing me to connect to TS. I even try the web based login and have had no success.

Is there any way to get around this so that I can get people registered. I am at work alot, but need to be able to let other members of my group play.

Any help would be appreciated.
Alexei

it depends... if you have an IP that's also known to the outside world you could try to run your team speak server on a port that is allowed in the firewall script. try port or 7, 21, 80, 443 or any other common ports.

if you have a private ip, that's unknown to the outside world, your system administrator has done a good job and it's not possable to make any direct connection from an other computer to yours, so a server is not possable to run.

if your IP begins is 10.*.*.* or 192.168.*.* or 172.16.*.* is hopeless. else you should try if someone from the outside world can ping your ip. if that's possable, there's hope, and try to run your server on a other port.

happy hacking ;)

Thanks for the insight. I think our computer nazi has us locked down tight. I am actually trying to login with the client...the server is hosted on external site.

I have tried to ping the server and get no connection. Was wondering if there is anyway for hte client-side to get around it. I used to be able to connect before he locked it down due to the vworm viruses.

Any help on that end?

if you can reache internet and are able to use other media like steaming video etc you should be able to use a team speak client.

try to map ports for this, i can't remember the name anymore. but i used it to be able to use SSH at work some time ago.

what it does is sending packets through a other server through HTTP, with extra information so it can be mapped back later on.

there are 2 downsides on this:
- it's slow
- and it's insecure

if i remember the program i'll post it for you if you like

edit:

5 minute later....

i remember.. socks2http was the name:
http://www.htthost.com

remember it's kind of a hacking tool... so use it with causion :)

hey i have pretty much the same thing as the person who started this thread, the main differance is i am trying to connect to a TS server not run one, but I believe that i need to get around a firewall and/or router as well. I am at college in the dorm and we have a LAN but it gives me terriable lag and packet loss alot of the time, i think its has to do with a firewall and or router not sure what they are using but would guess they would have one. My question is how do i setup and use the software recomended below? I read the faqs and stuff with it and even though i am not a comp newb i am pretty much a network newb and now i am confused and lost lol.

p.s. is socks2http the name of the file? if so if it is i don't see it on there webpage. I only see these 3 files:HTTPort, HTTPort SDK, HTTHost.

you need HTTPort, it's based on socks2http
if you install it, you only need to config a port, i'm sure it's in the manual
