View Full Version : A few thing to think about when setting up own server(if it wont work out for you)

A few thing to think about(it might not solve alls questions but maybe a few)

1. Make sure you don't have a firewall that is blocking the ports you set up your server on.

2. (if you use router) Change the DMZ host in your router menu and make your public ip(the one on the internet) get routed to your local machine so those who try to connect don't connect to you router, but to your machine.(there is someway to rout specific ports to but i don't know how to do that :P)

Countinue of 2. if you have a router mostly it gives you a new ip each time you connect to it (start up the computer) to prevent this you should configure you ip yourself so you keep it each time you start the computer, (if you don't do this the router might not rout your internet ip to the right computer on the network, or maybe none)


Mostly this is the problem why people can't conect to your server thats why i did this

If more experienced people like to add something or correct it don't hesitate to post ;)
