Are there any plans to bring in some sort of time control?

Once you add a user to the database, they can join at any time.
Might be an idea to be able to limit people to only be able to sign in between certain hours?

One possible use is traffic control.

Over the day only a few users are premitted to connect and in the evening all users can connect (or the other way round if you want).

For this, a time based login model for anonymous users would be nice.

but wouldnt it be easier to write a script that adjusts the max_user_limit ? Combined with the "reserved_slots" for admins idea it would perform as well ?

Not exactly the same thing because you have no control who can use the reduced slot count.

If you use the server comercially you can do something like that for example:

Paying customers can join around the clock while other can only join between 18:00 and 19:00 or something. And the users don't have to be admins.

Currently you can only rent a server on a slot not on a time basis.
I don't know if there is any demand for this. This is just an application example.
