Suggestion: Sub-channel improvements

Currently whenever my TS server restarts the subchannel's max user value is (re?)set to the parent channel's max user value. Would it be possible to save these settings for server restart?

I run some channels (which contain subchannels) with a maximum user count of 0 to force players to use the subchannels and not the channel itself. Would it be possible to make any attempt to join such a parent channel (one with a max user of 0) divert you into the first ranked subchannel? I would find that very useful.

hmmm,

if I remember correctly its impossible to do what you want to do with current builds :/. The parent user count counts as total user maximum, as in: if the parent channel is 10 users max, then that means totaly 10 users anywhere in the channelfammily.
I also recall it being quite buggy/broken :/.

Oh, then it is quite buggy/broken. I am using that as functionality on my TS server :D. I have channels set to allow 0 users, and their subchannels set at 6 or so. Seems to work perfectly fine apart from what I mentioned above. Well please don't fix that bug, I think its a feature :D. - Tink

hmmmm.... perhaps it would be a better idea to add another field for channels which can contain sub-channels, so you have a field "parent-max-users" for the parent channel itself and another field "channelfamily-max-users" for the whole channelfamily.

ok, still someone should work out the names :D

example: I want to create a normal channel, that doesn't contain sub-channels, so I didn't check the SubChannel checkbox. --> channelfamily-max-users is greyed out. As soon as I check the checkbox the field is enabled...

I've had a few times when I wanted a third sub-channel (a sub-channel inside a sub-channel), it might become a tad crowded at times, but it can be quite useful in some cases. It would also be a big help if we could select the flags (check-boxes) for sub-channels or add a password.
