hey there - i just got teamspeak, was chatting to a friend (72 ping) and my own voice was delayed about 1.2 seconds or so. i made the server. what am i doing wrong? it's really hard to talk when you hear your own voice a second after you said stuff.

WEll 2 things, First you can try muting ur mic in the volume setting window thats at bottom right in tool bar. This will not mute it for the audience ur talking to u just wont hear ur self. Also you can try changeing the Codec to learn more read the manual it is real real helpful.

Good Luck,
Alecs K. :D

I have the same problem, we are on a LAN at full 100MBs. TS is on its own server running a PII 400 w/ 512MB ram.

If the person next to me talks I hear him about 2 seconds later. Is this normal?

I can also hear myself through the headphones, but if I mute the mic won't it just turn it off totally and no one will be able to hear me talk at all.

I am not using push to talk, using voice and using the last codec in the list that is the highest kbs. also using direct sound.

Well,

most of the *lag* time is taken by soundbuffer. These settings should provide minimum latency:
- Low Ping to server
- Codec GSM 16.4
- A very good soundcard
- in the settings either (im not sure): wav or direct sound with soundbuffer set to minimum.
