Teamspeak has only one problem: it doesn't recognize when I'm speaking. I went to a server that someone invited me into, so I know I'm not being muted out, and they didn't hear me. I tried recording with no success. I choose the proper devices that I use (based on Control Panel -> sounds and multimedia -> audio) and I know my mike works (I unmuted it and put it to full volume: I can hear my voice clearly). There is also a modem option that is invalid. What could be the solution?

Did you check in the voice activation in local test mode?
Move the slider to whisper and see if the activation goes on.
To get an optimal setting move the slider to max shout. Then start talking normaly. While Talking move the slider to whisper. As soon as the activation goes on stop moving. This should be your optimal setting.

If that does not work try push to talk.
If that also does not work check your windows mixer settings. Mic should be the only selected input device. You can also try to activate the mic boost in mixer options for the mic.
For all test keep the output volume setting of TS in the middle since this is the setting most other users will use.

Also try to record your voice via the windows recorder. If that does not work you have a hardware/driver problem.

The hardware problem may be the case. I had Ventrilo/recording working before on Windows 98. I got 2000 now. Do I need updates?

I thought you'd use my profile to answer the question:
TeamSpeak version (complete string: 2.0.32.60)
Operating System: Windows 2000 Professional
Soundcard + Driver versions Intel 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller - 2445. Driver 2.30.17.0 (since 3/24/00)
Game (Medal of Honor: Spearhead)
DirectX Version: Latest available 9.0
What error message do you receive? N/A. Neither changing the voice sensitivity nor making it activate on key worked. People said they didn't hear me, that's the message
How often does the error appear? N/A
What did you do to resolve the problem? Updated sound device. Check connections (they're all in). Used volume control to find out that microphone is in fact connected because I could hear myself. It also had worked with Ventrilo, which I used until my clan switched.

and last but not least: Are you a hot looking girl? I'm a boy.
