Please allow banning by loginname.
I got only registered users on my server.
so banning by loginname would be very effective. By now with IP-bans, the banned person can redial and is back in the chat in a minute or so.

loginname bans would solve the problem very effective.

another good thing about that.

other SA's / users could see WHO actually has been banned. by now you just see the IP and who banned the person.

Thanks

just delete their accounts.

Yes, but then they can come back as unregistred.

Or you make a secret server password and only add users via the web interface.

no sack, they cant come back unregistered...unless this is not true "I got only registered users on my server". If anybody can join unregistered it would be a easy thing coming in unregsitered if your login name is banned.

but i don't want to remove them completely, just ban them for lets say a week or something. so a list with all banned names would come in very handy to have an overview.

i see no advantage in the ip-ban thing,
beside that it's already implemented :)

is there an advantage in being able to ban the ip and NOT the loginname ?

It would be a VERY useful feature for me.
Because we are managing a community with 2500 users, using teamspeak. Everything is
database-driven and my SA's aren't allowed to unregister users.

Uh anaother thing...
would be cool if people weren't allowed to choose nicknames wich are already registered loginnames.

Some guys here take other people's registered names as nicknames and trick people into thinking they are someone they aren't.

Yeah well,

the only simple way to do login based removing of players is allow Revoke Registration. Banning login names is one of the feature suggestions I have filled, so you *might* be lucky and find it implemented in a future version.
And reserving nicknames for specific accounts, is definetly a thing that sounds sensible...im not sure though if it should be an option or not (theoreticly, somebody could block the nicknames of unregsitered users [that dont want to register] by making himself accounts with their names, this requires the right to register to be set for Unregistered Users though)...and if it should be a option, where should it go ?

Oh and edit:
Of course there is a huge advantage of banning IPs vs login names...on most servers its not forced to login registered (either there is a server password that is known, or the server is password free) - in those situations its basicly _NO_ use to ban a loginname - heck the users dont even have to register to go bother you again =). Banning a IP gives them more trouble...
