You have to open the ports at the firewall.
The ports are in the FAQ and the manual.

you posted in the wrong place. This is NOT a norton firewall forum ! Here we discuss TS.
If you have problems dealing with this firewall, read the manual or check a forum dealing with this firewall.
thx

if i remember correctly norton would ask you when a inbound connection is made. at least a few years when i tried it (and trashed it a few hours later) i would get a popup "do you wish to allow IP X to port Y " and then you can allow or deny it. norton would build up a firewall ruleset this way.

i don't know if they still have this "feature" but it was kinda irritating for me. one advice i can give you is. delete that crap software and configure the windows firewall and allow the correct port.

or if they learned their lesson try to find the real configuration set so you can create a dynamic rule to allow all inbound for team speak.

Finally, a sane person!!!

Hmm, Iīll check.....oh, I accidently stumbled onto how to configure it...hehe, If i doubleclick on "security" I get an awful lot of options.

Thanks madcat, you made me wonder a little, if you havenīt pointed me in that direction, Iīd uninstalled TeamSpeak.

and guldi, youīre the reason people still use RW and Gamevoice. grow up ffs!

hehe.. looks like they have improved their software :)
i still would advice you to use the firewall setting that are available in windows 2K pro and XP pro.

NPF is more a firewall from you to others, so a troyan have less chance to be active.
but if you like it i won't stop you :)

i also used roger wilco before teamspeak... but teamspeak's sound quality is much better :)

good luck with teamspeak, i was glad i could be of service

Iīll look into the built in firewall, and see if I like it, thanks for the tip.

NPF is the BEST firewall of anybrand out there.

Not only will it stealth EVERY port you have Used, or unused until you tell it not to. When used in conjunction with NIS, and NAV it provides a complete internet security solution.

the Firewall in WInXP is a joke, and has more holes in it than a loaf of swiss cheese.

and there is no "included" firewall with Win2k Pro..........I know cause I run 5 machines of it. Plus Win2k Advanced Server.

Nortons uses that "irritating" pop up to show you when a subsystem on your machine is trying to log onto the internet, and you can set a rule the first time it does it, so that it will allow, or disallow that subsystem from asking the same question everytime you use it.

Only two classes of people would tell someone to ditch a proven product like NPF, NIS, or NAV..........a hacker, or an idiot that can not figure out how to use a product.

But since the server is not attempting to make connections but receiving them, you will not get the pop up.
So you will have to configure it manually. And since many people seem to fail at this, Norton seems to be not so good there.

So instead of flaming madcat you could have told Patte_the_Swede how to manually configure the great Norton Firewall to open port 8767 udp.

PS: Its is true that Win2k pro does not have an integrated firewall.

Wrong:

Anytime a machine outside of Nortons sends or recieves a packet that tries to access an internet accessible program you will recieve the pop-up UNTIL you change the setting yourself.

If someone tries to send you a yahoo messenger file you wil get the pop up, if you try to send someone a yahoo messenger file you will get the pop up.

As many times as he has told someone "Read the manual" for questions they ask here about TS............you would think they guy would take his own advice and "read the manual" for NPF.

Actually I do not use or have Norton Firwall and I will not do any sopport for it. So it is not my job to read the manual of Norton Firewall.
It was just a reply to the thing you said about popups for outgoing connections.

why would you wanna stealth your ports?
if i connect to it i gain access instantly, common portscanners just have this feature standard!

okey wanna make a bet on that, mister 1337 h4x0r ?
goto configuration menu -> admin tools -> local security settings
select IP security settings -> action = create new IP policy. better then that crappy norton.

and no i do not mean the crappy "one button click firewall", that's just as crappy as NPF

MY definition of a firewall is don't let the bad guys IN.
the definition of norton is don't let any program OUT

ps, i have my firewall on a other machiene standing before my windows machiene, that's blocking about everything, i only allow connections made from my machiene to the outside world and not back... this is the true meaning of a firewall.. you can not even connect to my machiene from the outside world. you have to hack my router/firewall first to even connect to my windows machiene.

i would not call myself a hacker, but defenatly not a n00b.
but i guess someone who does not even know the functions of a standard windows 2K pro version who is showing off that he can configure w2K AS (which is for exreeem servers btw, with 4-8 processors and 4-8 Gb ram ) poorlly. does not have the right to flame somebody with technology he does not understand.

NPF is defenatly crap. but i also use NAV because the other virusscanners i have tried are not user friendly enough.

BTW NIS = NPF + NAV... so NPF is not a stand alone program, it's a program compilation.

i do not even need a virus scanner on my windows machiene. but i have clock cycles to spare for this extra security. but NPF is defenatly not something that i need.... pff scanning every outgoing connection.... if i had my windows pc directly connected to the internet windows just should drop the packets i do not want to on the lowest level possable.. and not on application level !

edit:

ps: try to learn writing html first before you wanna flame on people without understanding what you are saying.
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.cibsquad.com/

and please do not say that internet explorer is the best browser, just because people like you can't understand standards who build their website and look in internet explorer and think "hey it's showing just like i want it, it's done"... WRONG

and yes this is a counter flame

read the firewall's manual, you'll find all information on which ports to open in the manual / faq.
