View Full Version : I have a very big ... problem :D
Hi, my name is Tunnuz and i have a very big problem! I've just opened (better: attempted to open) a Teamspeak Server with the utility you provide ... I have explored the Administration pages and finally I've started the server. But there is a problem ... I connect to the Internet trough an ADSL Modem/Router so, when I try to connect to my TS Server it returns to me this words:
[12.54.14] No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it
I think the problem is the router because I also have problems hosting other sorts of servers like "Ultima Online Automap" if someone knows it.
If anyone knows where is the problem and how to activate the router to host the TS Server ... I need help!
PS: Sorry for my english :)
Uhm ... I have noticed that the link http://myip:myport/ doesnt works ... and I've noticed this point in the manual:
To get server to work behind firewall, nat, masq you need only to open/forward the server port (in the above case: 8767 UDP).
The problem is that I don't know how to forward a port (there is the option in my router). Maybe my server doesn't works because I'm under NAT ...
I have found out how to forward my ports but I don't know what I have to put in the text fields ... it request:
1. Public Port
2. Private Port
3. Port Type [UDP/TCP]
4. Host IP Address

For normal operation:
Public Port: 8767
Private Port: 8767
Port Type: UDP
Host IP Address: The LAN IP of your TS server.
I recommend to configure the LAN IP of your TS server manually. If you set it to automatic in the network properties it can change and you have to update the port forwarding every time it changes.
If you want the web interface remote accessible also forward:
Public Port: 14534
Private Port: 14534
Port Type: TCP
Host IP Address: The LAN IP of your TS server.
If you want the TCPQueryPort remote accessible also forward:
Public Port: 51234
Private Port: 51234
Port Type: TCP
Host IP Address: The LAN IP of your TS server.
The TCPQueryPort is only necessary if you want to run WebPost or some other scripts on a remote site.
All this assumes that you use the default ports and did not change any ports in the web interface or the server.ini.
EDIT: All servers you are hosting need a port forwarding. Just find out what ports and protocol they use and forward the port in the same way as you do for ts. netstat -a in the command line can help you finding the correct ports.
EDIT2: http://myip:14534/ may still not work after the port forwarding from within your lan. Most routers do not support this. From within your LAN always use the LAN IP. Only external users should use your WAN IP.
Nothing to do ... also with the forwarding the server doesn't works ... well ... the server works but I cannot connect ... anyway I have two lan IPs:
The IP provided from TS Server in IPs menu: 10.0.0.4
The IP to connect to the Router Administration: http://10.0.0.2
The IP provided from TS Server in IPs menu: 192.168.0.1

I don't know where you have all these IP addresses from.
You can find out your current LAN IP in Win2k/XP by going to the console (on the computer with the TS server) and typing ipconfig /all.
In win98/ME Run winipcfg.
You can find out your external IP (WAN IP) address by visiting http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/.
Nothing ... it doesn't works.

Sorry, since I don't know your exact network config and how yout ISP is integrating you in his network I can not help you further.
Maybe your router firmware is buggy. In this case try to upgrade your router firmware to the latest version.
