In the router Web Interface choose NAT Setup,
choose Open Ports Setup,
choose an index for open ports (the first one for example),
select: Enable Open Ports,
enter the LAN IP of your TS server as Local Computer,
in the first free entry choose UDP as protocol and 8767 as start port and 8767 as end port (This is the default. If you did change it then specify the one you use).
Optionaly you can add the following entries:
Protocol TCP, start Port 14534, end Port 14534 (Add this if you want to have the Web Interface of the TS server remotely available),
Protocol TCP, start Port 51234, end Port 51234 (Add this if you want to have the TCPQueryPort of the TS server remotely available)

Click OK.
You are done.

PS: This description is for Firmware 2.3.6 but may work for other revisions too.

thank you very much for that info. but i have stumbled on another problem. when i place someone in another channel then i cant see them and if i click on the channel the stats just gives a question mark so i dont know if they are there untill i go to the channel myself. is this a problem in the server config or is it a glitch in the computer which it runs on?

Please read the client and server manual (available in the FAQ Forum). The answer to your question is in there but here it is for you:

In the web interface configure the server from public to clan mode and you should see all users.
