View Full Version : When my PC Crashes, I loose TeamSpeak Rooms

If anyone can help me. I am running a Teamspeak server for our Gaming Clan and everytime I put up a new server and put up the new rooms in teamspeak, they hold out for a few hours and sometimes even a day or two. But if my machine locks up and freezes, I have to naturally turn my machine off improperly and bring it back up. However when I bring TeamSpeakServer back up, there is no rooms anymore and you can't even see your name in the server, although you are logged on and show to be connected. You also loose the ability to make new rooms so then I have to uninstall the server completely and reinstall a new one and start putting the rooms in again from scratch and reregistering all our members.

Can anyone please help us resolve this problem?

everybody always claims to use the "newest" version. But only 10% of the guys do. Please connect to your server, go Connection -> Server Connection Info, and tell me what version you see there. '

Well the current version is 2.0.19.46, welcome to the 90% of users that claim to have the newest but dont =).

Checkout the "developers release" section on this forum.

Thank you very much pwk.linuxfan. I have upgraded my version to 2.0.19.46 now but I must ask one more question. Obviously this will fix my problem and I guess I only need time now to tell me if it worked, when my PC crashes again. However I am sure it should come back with all the rooms. But what was causing it and what is it about this new version that fixes the problem, if I may ask? Just curious.

On behalf of the Star Fleet Xtreme Clan, I thank you for helping us with this nightmare that tormented us for over a month now since we were using TeamSpeak2.

Well,

basicly its a issue of when the server saves to database, and when it keeps the infos in RAM. If it only saves on shutdown, then unclean "killing" of the server will result in loss of all changes.
Hopfuly the b46 server is a bit less confident of your PCs "up-time" capabilities, and syncs to the database more often.
You will see.

Well again I thank you for your response and props to your Tech team for being so resourceful and helpful. Keep doing the great job you are and if I have any other issues I will be back here again.

And maybe backup the server.ini too.
