Hello everyone.
I'm hosting a TS2 server and it works great. 216.240.143.196:8767 (you can login 'anonymously')
1. Id' like to know if it's possible to run multiple instances of server on the same machine. Clearly you would need to set up a different port for each.
2. Is TS2 cpu intensive like a game is? (in that the more users the more resources the server uses up)
3. Can someone point me to the thread that best describes tweaking the server and the client setting? I'm sure someone here has already posted this useful information... :)
Thank you!
Thanks TS2 for the great product.

Yes, you can setup different servers listening on different ports. If you have more then one IP, you can also setup server lsitening on different IP's (check the bintoIP setting in the server.ini).

As TS does no voice mixing, it uses only few CPU time (but "much" bandwith).
I don't knwo the exact correlation, but the more user the more resources it will use. However I haven't heared of anyone having problems with CPU resources. The big problem is the Bandwith.

Hi guldi,
Thanks for the info. In the third question I was more or less wondering what some of the favorite settings are of all you pros around here. Especially to conserve bandwidth. I have used the default ones so far.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Ok, that's what I thought.
TS offers you a wide range of Codes with different bandwith use. There is not "best setting" as it is highly dependable on the bandwith you have on hand, the amount of user on your server and if they will all speak together (remember: the server does NOT mix the voice streams ! A bandwith calculation example is in the FAQ.)
You see, I'm in a little problem to give you a good hint. I would recommand you calculate what bandwith you have availabel, the users,... and then do some testing. I would say as long as you not plan to stup many houndrets or thousands of user the resources (WITHOUT bandwith) should not be a problem.
Maybe you could give us a hint: How many users are you going to expect on your server(s) ?

Not too many. Less than 30 at any given time. I have 1000 GB bandwidth a month.
Thanks, Ill check the FAQ.
