Well I guess it's all in the subject already I guess. The pilots in my clan would really love to be able to bind a joystick button in Teamspeak. They usually need 2 hands on the stick so it would be extremely useful.

Unfortunately "voice activation" isn't any good cause in the heat of battle people tend to breathe heavy. :D

Already suggested, but not so easy to implement as it sounds.

Possible workaround may be a keymapping software that can map joystick buttons to keys. Then bind the mapped key to the push to talk function.

Other workaround: Better headsets help against the breathing problem.

We use Teamspeak each day the entire day, so rest assured we use good quality headsets. :)

Can it not be done through "directinput" or would it conflict with the game?

i have such an app (windows only) in the works right now
functional, except for one point. ive tried several different api calls to send th keypress, but teamspeak doesnt recognize any of them.
can anyone provide any info on how teamspeak is watching for input events?

I found a small application that worked for me. JoyToKey

I have Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and uses my middle mouse button as default speak button. I had no problem to assign a button on the joystick to map the middle mouse button with this small application.
