    Improved SuSE startup script

I've attached an improved SuSE startup script I use on my SuSE 8 server. It might work on Redhat, but I don't have an instance to test.

    Changes
    • Added initial variables for installation directory, binary, product name, PID file
    • Added check for missing binary
    • Added try-restart, reload, force-reload, status options
    • Standardized calls from direct shell commands to checkproc and killproc, rc_status, etc.

I left the PID file in the TSS home directory rather than moving it to /var, just in case it could be used as an exploit.

To use it, just extract the file. I would have directly uploaded the file, but the forum does not accept arbitrary files.

    Hope you all enjoy it.

Thumbs up Tested on SUSE 9.1

hi, tizzyd. I'm a newbie in both linux and tss. It is really difficult for me to configure the tss as a service in my SUSE 9.1 box. This spend me a lot of time to search all possible solutions over the internet. I'm much appreciated that I'm come to ur posting. Your script is sound, it runs perfectly in my platform. Thx for your contributions. Your script is so perfect that nobody need to amend it and that's why there is no further thread for your posting I'm writing to support u and push !!!

After I have examined many discussions in this forum, I found many experienced user pointed out that it is not recommended to start the tss service by root. However, your system script would start by root. Please advise. I want to understand it from u
