A crash I have been experiencing for quite some time.
Total lock up of the PC. And I get High pitch random sounds from the speakers and/or Headset. This type of crash happens in most every game I play.
BF:1942/Vietnam
Rise of Nations
UT2004
American Army
I have wiped my PC clean atleast twice that I can remember getting this crash for the first time. I've got the crash with both win2k and Winxp, I've also changed out the hardware of my PC completely. So it seems to be a software problem and the common denominator is TS.
Anyway, if anyone has had the problem and found a solution let me know!
P4S800D-E Deluxe
1 GIG of Corsair 2799 DDR Ram
P4 2.4GIG mhz

From what I read in this forum, heppends a lot due to bad USB drivers. Look for an update.

I still get the crash.
I still get the high pitched squeal that locks my pc and i need to hold down my power button to restart. Gets real annoying. I run the server for both TS and our Game and I cannot join TS for fear the the pc crashing.
USB ShmuSB.. all I got is a creative webcam that I have even disconnected and I still crash. I downloaded the latest crap from intel for my host controllers etc.. still nothing.
if anyone has any other ideas, lend a helping hand

i too have this crash, im running:
ut2004 (red orchestra mod)
on a
athlon 64 3000+
1024 mb ram
nforce3 sound
ati 9800pro video
the system is a shuttle one, it has been rock solid (on average at least a weeks uptime before i choose to reboot).
however whenever i run teamspeak as well it crashes normaly withing a couple of minutes, sometimes it can run for quite a while.
when it crashes the entire system locks up, it seems to make stuttering sounds sometimes for a little while. but the only way to recover is by pressing the reset button.

all of you running XP ?? sounds to me to be a xp proublem with your curent hardware ??? i know peps with xp and ts that have no troubles , i my self run win 2000 pro with server and client running and my pc dont get rebooted for months at a time and only when there is a update or something that requires it
i would post all hardware in pc, mother board, sound card , video as well as ,and driver version # the os and sp installed with directx version used to see if there is something in common ! my money is on a hardware conflict
not a teamspeak issue .

i figured out what my problem was, my problem was my sound card, cause after i replaced it, it worked fine, and on the old soundcard ts would work with my usb headset, so im guessing its some kind of glitch with the mic thingy of my soundcard

its certainly not an xp problem, as i have used many dofferent voip and other telephony software on my system, al of which worked perfectly and did not cause any crashes.
which means its possibly an XP specific teamspeak problem, but certainly not an XP or hardware problem.

no, read my post properly.
my hardware works perfectly, with every chat program i have used except teamspeak 2.
therefore it may be a problem _RELATED_ to hardware, however it is a problem specific to teamspeak. therefore its not a hardware problem, its a teamspeak compatibility problem.

Sound cards comon cause - Usually Sound blaster
Unfortunately I am also having this issue, but I don't believe its related to TS, or even BF2 or any other game. here's what I know. I used to have an SB Live! sound card. The same lock up would happen during games. sometimes during something sound and graphic intensive like using my ATI all in wonder card to watch tv. It's a known Creative/Sound Blaster Issue, and much to my Dismay, the Audigy 2 ZS exhibits the same behaviour. Calls to Creative in the old days didn't get me far, and in those days they were helpful, not arrogant and on their high horse like they are today. Their tech support has totally gone to crap, and they act like we as consumers need them, and if we don't, we can just piss off. I have dealt with Creative and many other companies for years since I'm a Network Engineer and Admin.
They don't care if you have trouble. they only want you to buy their card.
anyway, kind of got off track there, In my experience as I said, this is defintely sound card related, I have heard it happening on non Creative cards, but mostly, it was the creative cards that did it. You might find more info on the net by looking up - +"Soundblaster Live" +"lock up" +"high pitch"
and I also Do recall coming across documents on Creatives site that indicated they were aware of the issue. Not sure if they are still there. I myself am going to search their site to see, but I won't hold my breath. Many of my colleagues solved this problem by axeing the creative card and replacing it with another top of the line 5.1 and up card.
